Scared 16 year old pulled out in front of me today.

The Corolla is probably totaled, not sure how I escaped body damage. Was able to drive it home. This thing is a tank.

Barely a scratch on the Tundra. The dash cam just paid for itself.

Damn, what a tank. Good to hear that there was no damage to the squishy part inside either vehicles.

Good driving avoiding the cars in the left turning lane going in oposite direction.

Looks like front axle area hit? After you have time, might wanna get the front end checked out, not sure how much force that axle took, alignment would be out of wack if anything....
Sorry about the accident, but at least you walked away safe, and truck looks OK (from the outside).

My thoughts exactly, will be dropping it at the Toyota dealership to get checked out and repaired if necessary.

Exactly this. I'd check out all the axle and steering components. Take it in for an alignment.

I mean... huge difference in speed and that Camry had a lot less weight than the Bronco that got flung at The Pige

I'm sure that's what happened ... left hand turning lane in opposite direction was chock-a-block and homie was shooting for a gap not looking left.

My 2.2 mile commute to my office runs through a "cultural district" with a lot of popular restaurants... I don't want to sound racist but the area is frequented by a lot of people whose ethnicity has a stereotype of being really bad drivers. Stereotypes get created for a reason.

Pretty much daily I see near misses because someone will wave someone through, or just leave space to pull across the two lanes into a driveway, but sometimes only one lane is stopped while the other is moving.

Someone waves "go ahead" and the person in the 2 way left turn lane will just go without even looking.

General rule: Never take a wave through as a sign that the way is clear. That is one person saying you are good, and there's a hundred others that don't know what that person is telling you. It's your job to make sure in all the other lanes and directions of travel.

So many people don't get this. They act like the nice person waving them through is a traffic cop directing traffic. It ends badly.

Yep, I'll leave space, I'll put up a "STOP" hand if I see someone coming in my mirror, but I won't wave them through.

That part's up to you, and I bear no responsibility if you choose to do something stupid.
