My passenger side wiper has never fully cleared the windshield towards the upper third of the wiper blade, even when brand new. I notice it most when I need to clear dirty road spray off the windshield. Driver's side works as it should.

I just pulled the wipers off, and I can't find any visible wear, or reason for the faulty performance of the passenger side. The original inserts appear to still be in great shape. I was hoping new inserts would make a difference, but now I'm not sure.

Any ideas why my passenger side wiper has never functioned properly?

I might have figured out why my passenger side wiper has always been faulty.

Upon closer inspection, I found a slight bend in the wiper body. I bent it back the best I could, then replaced the insert. Hopefully that fixes it. If not I'll replace the entire wiper blade.

Is it just me, or do the OEM wipers seems extremely flimsy compared to other wiper blades?

    Not just you, I agree…
While snow brushing off the windshield I must have gotten the brush behind the wiper and bent it enough that it would leave a streak in the middle.
I tried to adjust it back but no go with that.
So, I just moved it to the passenger side and let my wife enjoy it.

Just replace the entire blade which comes with a new insert. It's the same price ($25) as a Bosch wiper blade

Is it pretty obvious how to swap out the inserts? They look like one solid piece?

Thank you! I just ordered a pair from Rock Auto $47 to my door. My passenger blade has never fully cleared since truck was new as others said in this thread. Now at 16 months in, I will just put new blades on before another Vermont Winter rolls around.

I want to see how these trico silicone ceramic blades hold up. See if they last as long or longer than the bosch icons

Can’t go wrong with the Toyota OEM for longevity and ease of install. Put the first replacement pair on in June of this year and Safelite is trying to sell me a new pair at 35.00 because “ the crack probably released shards of glass that will scratch the new windshield.”

I do clean with alcohol and apply some protectant to the blades every once in a while if I notice streaking on the windshield. This helps a lot with the performance of the blades as well.

I've used them for both my truck wiper inserts as well as some 2017 Toyota Camry parts I've needed. Usually ships within a weekend the products are packed well and in original Toyota packaging including part #'s. I hate paying for an OEM part and getting it and it's been taken out of it's original packaging, no reason for that!

    A bunch...
    Reporting back on some testing.

As posted a few months ago in this thread, I have had PIAA Silicone wipers on past cars and trucks. I have never had any issues with them and they always perform brilliantly here in the PNW (wet).

I bit the bullet and ordered these from Amazon - PIAA 97060 https://tinyurl.com/2ane5gq9 They fit perfectly using the correct adapters.

This is my understanding. I can not find the drivers side refill part listed on the Toyota parts website. They are both 24" blades, so I just ordered two right side refills in hopes one fits the left. They haven't arrived yet, so I can't confirm. Will post update when I receive them.
