They only fold up however I have seen a mod that allows them to fold down as well. Not sure if it was here though.

There is a write up on another site on how to mod the back seats to fold down. Not sure how everyone feels about posting links from other forums here. but this was a short description of how one person did it.

Again this was not done by me.

I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, so being new to the community I'll just take a stab at it.

What are the chances this conversion would work on a CM?

I don’t believe it works with the new gen of crew max. At least I haven’t seen it be done yet...

Same. I only thought it worked on the double cabs.

I'm sure your all right about folding down the factory set of seats without some sort of conversion...
I'll going to try it anyway and see if I can come up with something.

The reason why the double cab works with this modification is, when you lift the bottom seat the back slides up and down, because of this we are able to just cut the latches or bend them down to now come unhooked. Crewmax doesn't do this. But maybe you’ll figure something out. Good luck! It would be cool if you figured something out for the crew max guys.

My 2013 CM seat backs folded down and slightly reclined but the part you sit on did not move. My 2018 the seat back is rigid and does not move while the part you sit on folds up. Both were bought new from dealer, 2013 had leather installed by dealer, 2018 is stock cloth seats.

While I love my truck, the rear seat lacking under storage without aftermarket or custom mods is something that disappoints me on my CM. Pretty common for pickup owners to want to store things under the rear seats. I'm sure I'll eventually do the ESP Under Seat Long Box But, at $850 it's kind of just a want on a wishlist right now.

Thanks guys, $850 is a little steep for that box so will have to wait for something else.

I agree. Perhaps I’ll consider it later. If you haven’t, look at their install video it does replace two of the seat runner brackets. So it’s a substantial kit. But a little rich for my blood right now.

There is a thread on here that details using steam pans for this storage issue and it's affordable. Use the searchbox, hint: @BrakeDust did it and detailed it, iirc.
