Just hit 100K miles on my 2021 TRDPro. Plugs and serpentine belts along with fluids.
How long are original alternators and water pumps lasting. Thanks

from what I've seen the water pump goes out earlier than expected on the 2.5 gen, I think my brother's went out at 120k

Alternator a long time though; mine has 270k on it and hasn't failed yet (knock on wood )

that would insane to replace the alternator at low mileage; its a toyota, everythings generally lasts a long time. You don't need to throw parts at it to just throw parts at it you know?

Where have you seen the water pump goes out earlier on 2.5 gens? 07-21 have the same water pump (2 and 2.5 gen). No sense in changing a part that’s currently functioning for no reason. You could just as likely install a new pump that fails in 100 miles.

I agree, I wouldn't recommend changing it to just change it; but I've seen a couple cases personally where the pump fails what would seem like earlier than usual on the 5.7. Happened on my brothers truck and the place he took it to said that its common, we haven't seen many at my shop though

Water pump about 250k, but wait until it starts leaking to replace it.. if you change your own oil, you will notice the red/pink stream on the front of the block...
Alternator I'm at 317k so far, so good

Here's my regular Public Service Announcement (PSA) regarding alternators in general and Toyota alternators specifically.

There is a simple wear part inside the alternator: the brushes. This is less than a $20.00 part. The alternator is serviceable. You can pull the cover off the alternator, CAREFULLY remove the two small screws that hold the brushes in place, pop the brushes out, pop the replacement set of brushes in, reinstall the two small screws, put the cover back on and you're good to go. Full disclosure: my 1997 T-100 truck with 277,000 miles has the original alternator. Though I have replaced the brushes twice (last time out of convenience as I had to replace a belt so I was already halfway there).

Note: Toyota identifies the alternator brushes as: Holder Ass, Alternator Brush. Or some very close version of that.

In general the whole "industry" alternator instruction "you need a new alternator AND you need to pay us a core charge" is a huge scam. You can save yourself big money by being informed and making decisions accordingly.

Pic of used/worn alternator brushes for reference:

My 2020's alternator went bad, but it wasn't the brushes, it was the bearings. Anyway, I bought an OEM replacement and held onto the original, going to rebuild it and if/when our other goes out, just swap it.

It is an absolute PITA to replace though.
