We purchased a 2024 Tundra Iforce Max last year. Prior to this, we've owned 4 earlier model Toyotas, including an SR5 Tundra 5.7ltr. All of these previous vehicles have been reliable and our dealership has provided excellent service. We needed a new unit to augment our retirement travel. Since the purchase, the recall on the 3.4ltr twin turbo has become a concern, though. To keep track, I've been monitoring the crankcase oil, sending samples to an independent lab. It seems the fuel saturation and the air filtration (silica) may be weak links, making more frequent servicing necessary. These are challenges noted with other turbocharged, direct injection engines and so this seems to be a repeating pattern. What is the track record for others on this forum?

DI engines are more susceptible to fuel saturation in the oil...hence the higher fuel concentration in it.

5k OCI is the go to.
