I'm trying to get my transmission fluid changed and I asked the shop to use only Toyota tranmission fluid which the dealer is taking forever to deliver. How important is using the recomended Toyota transmission fluid opposed to another transmission fluid?

You can get it on Amazon in a day. I ordered a couple times 6 packs and it came within 2 days. It was OEM in OEM cases.

    Too many, but not enough....
Some people swear that other aftermarket fluids work fine, if not better than WS, others say their transmission was almost inoperable without WS. It depends. The only thing that's for sure is that WS works so I only use WS.

    Toyota WS transmission fluid.

Some aftermarket fluids also claim to conform to meeting Toyota WS specifications.

Idemitsu makes a full synthetic WS fluid for example.

    None....
Can't you just stop by a dealer and pick it up?

Im guessing your shop uses one type of fluid fits all vehicles ever made kind of place. I would want to make sure it was toyota WS they work for you.
