    Anyone have experience with both?

Curious for someone who does the majority of their driving on hilly roads with occasional light snow and rain? Also, any MPG and road noise feedback would be good as well.

Wouldn't mind saving $100/tire, but consensus seems to be the AT4W. Don't hear much about the R/T01.

    TIA.

I hated, hate hate hate the Falkens. I had them in E range, sucked. Loud, heavy, poor gas mileage, like driving on hockey pucks.could not get them to balance multiple times

I know you asking about another tire, but I just swapped to Toyo Open Country At3 in standard load for our trucks and love it! Very quiet, and much better ride

I've heard good things about the Toyo's as well.

However, I did see the AT4s in 35/11.5/20 are rated a D, where the Toyo's in 285/65/20 are rated E.

I'm not doing anything crazy in my truck where the E is required and seems like getting to a D would be better for ride quality.

What truck/s did you have them on?

Also what were the specs and wheel specs? I’ve been thinking of getting some 37x12.5 Falken AT4W’s on my 23 Pro and have only heard the opposite from others on road noise. Worse gas mileage is a given on E rated. Bummer on the balance issue. I’m thinking of going down to 17 wheels from the 18’s it currently has stock.

I had them on stock 18 inch wheels and stock tires, no lift. 100% go for the 6 or 8 ply version. The ride quality of the E rated ones were like riding a wagon wheel. I had them swapped out a couple times, road force was high, chatted with Falken about different PSI. Tried different wheels, balanced multiple times. Still a vibration. They made a whomp whomp like sound anytime above 40. Had my truck checked by dealer for any other issues, nothing found.

the second I swapped to standard load Toyos, all the issues went away. They balanced amazing too , only needed about 1.5-2.5 oz each wheel! Which is amazing. In my opinion much quieter than the Falken. Falkens customer service sucked too. They were not easy to work with for warranty service. Just my experience.

I've had the AT3W's in 37x12.5r18 for nearly 54k mi. Bought pre Covid.

They'll likely exceed their warranty threshold before I replace with the RT's. Granted if it was winter I'd have already replaced them.

That said, performance in all seasons has been excellent in S. Utah, dimenishing most notably in last 10k miles.

I'm running around 50ish psi for the E rated tires with regular rotations every 3-5k mi.

MPG on average is 12 with a recent best of 15 during a road trip.

Minor towing consisting of dump/ H.D. runs. Otherwise about 500lbs static load in the bed at all times( cap/bedslide/full spare&jack)

Definitely can recommend them. No balancing issues for me.

I'm on a 6" lift with airbags BTW.

I had P rated Toyo AT3. Were decent, but the tread wore much faster that the Falken At3. I have AT4s on my Land Cruiser and they have been great so far.

Have the Nokian Outpost nATs on my Tundra. They have been great in all conditons, but they run heavy in LT.

I guess it depends too in your usage, do you tow, do you off road, offset wheels? Overall decent brands.

Falken AT4W fans, would you run the true 35" that is E load or the 315/70R17 that is C load?

Was it the model of the tire or the load range?

My 2012 did not do well with E tires.

I bought the new at4Ws in load range E. I went through 3 sets, different brands, each set couldn’t balance, out of round, had multiple multiple techs balance. Shook every time from 55-65. I just decided it was time to go with standard load Toyo open country at3 and problem went away immediately.

For some reason E range is very difficult to balance unless done just right. I only went with e range initially for my side wall protection, but wasn’t worth it in the end. The standard loads ride really well for me.

C load 100% unless you need to tow often or off road a bunch.

I will say this too. The new Terra grappler G3 is quieter and better in wet than the Toyo at3.

I am actually confused as to how many on here get LRE tires to work on tundras. That was not my experience at all with the 2nd Gen. I found it rode like a brick and had steering vibrations I couldn't solve.

I tow 7000# once a month or so during the summer. For me, standard load tires, with the rear aired up to 50psi (assuming 51psi max cold) are plenty stable during towing.

I was looking at the AT4 and went with the Rubitrek A/T 01 as a compromise. I've been happy w/ them running 28 psi for forest/dirt roads and 42psi towing. They were a little noisy at first but have broken in and are about average for road noise.

I have the Falken AT3W on my Sequoia and love them. So I decided to try the Falken AT4W for my Tundra, and I didn't like them so much. I got rid of them and went with Nitto terra grappler G3 and happy with them so far.

I cross shopped the Toyo AT3, Falken AT4W, and Nitto terra grappler G3. I tried the AT4w and didn't like them. I was strongly considering the Toyo AT3 but decided on the new Nitto terra grappler G3 because of the reviews I seen have been good. And they been great to me so far. We'll see how long they last long term.

OEM likes SL and P rated tires for some reason. My wife is gonna get some G3’s on her SUV soon. I have OC At3 Toyos and will report back comparison soon.
