That is gorgeous man! Water is looking decent and I know exactly where I'd *try* to place my fly for the drift.

My Buddies and I were in Casper last week on the river doing some fly fishing. We had an eagle fly right by us and grab a trout out of the river and take it to its nest on the rocky bluff. We always enjoy the scenery and wildlife in the area.

99% of my fishing efforts over the last 30 years have been DIY trips throughout the PNW and BC chasing trout and steelhead. I first read about Argentina's sea run brown trout many years ago and finally made the trip this past winter. Caught some nice sea run browns including this 13# chromer. Some great food too - especially liked the lamb asado.

I tried fly fishing years back.
While it was pretty cool and it was nice being able place the fly in the same spot over and over pretty much irritating the fish until it struck.
I've found that I caught a lot of fish on the retrieve through water I didnt consider likely to be productive with my standard rig.
    It is pretty cool though.
And of course the need to have open space behind you did hamper my ability to fish certain parts of the river I lived on.
it was great for wade fishing at the beach since there's nothing around to hamper your cast but the wind at the beach could really mess it up.

When your back cast space is limited, a roll cast is your friend.

Oh I get the appeal no doubt.
But again there are other issues to contend with.
High winds at the beach, and it still can be difficult in tight spaces.
Used to do a lot of Fishing on the S. Llano River since we had a weekend place there.
We used a lot of short rods due to to space constrictions and you were normally in a kayak.
A lot of it involved "Flipping" or "Pitching" where you held the rod across your body and in a back hand motion that was very short and you used the very flexible rod tip to get your lure under hanging branches and ledges.
Of course with a fly rod this is going to be more difficult.
Dont get me wrong I do enjoy it,but due to the conditions I normally fish it's not practical.
