2776 miles from Toyota of Lebanon PA to Everett Washington. We left on Wednesday on a red eye and got to the truck Thursday afternoon, we made it back home by Sunday night around 10 pm. I think we did okay getting back in a decent amount of time, but let the group be the judge. Having never done a cross country road trip and with less than a week to plan, I say it went pretty well.

About 5 feet to my driveway.

Bought in Pennsylvania and had it shipped to Arizona. I was on travel for work so my wife picked it up from the gas station about a mile down the road since the truck driver couldn't make it into my neighborhood.

That had to be a smoking deal to go across the country!

14 miles to my dealership, but the truck was transferred 1660 miles from Seattle to Minneapolis. I had a very specific trim combo which was rare and ended up waiting 4 months for any dealer to have one. I paid the $1000 shipping/transfer fee because that was cheaper than my time and travel expenses.

Well curious minds are dying to know.... what was the rare trim combo you had to have?

Non-hybrid Platinum with AVS in black or mag grey. The hardest part was non-hybrid. I guess most the trucks in Platinum or 1794 are hybrids coming off the line, but I didn't want a 1794 because I'm not a fan of the brown/wood interior.

Absolutely love the truck though, and worth the wait.

It was about $1500. I wish the dealer would have went with another company because they picked up the truck a few days later that they were supposed to, had a lot of delays on the way to Arizona. It took then about 2 and a half weeks to get it to my house. It showed up after I had left for a month long work trip so I owned the truck for a month before even being able to use it. But now that I have it I'm loving it

    ... about 80 miles
I made the 80 mile journey since I found a rare build of a Lunar Rock Platinum with Electric Steps (& t-gate step) ... and the factory installed OE 3" lift.
Most with the OE lift had the TRD Offroad Pkg... which eliminates the electric step option. I'll use the steps 1000x more than TRD offroad stuff ... Some of which would just be replaced by the lift kit components (shocks etc.)
I appreciate that the electric steps maintain the higher look and ground clearance vs the fixed steps.
Bonus, this one had the HUD which I didn't even know I wanted ... but I love it.

It wasn't the price, We did however pay MSRP during covid. The reason for going across the country was the trucks spec. It was a 2023 Limited Crew max 6.5 TRD OR with the PANO and had the power package in lunar rock with the black softex interior. It was a spec myself and my wife wanted so we made it happen.

I wanted an SR5 with 8-foot, which is rare in SoCal, but my closest dealer, 15 miles away (out of a half-dozen I contacted) actually did the legwork to have it shipped from a dealer near Frisco (441 miles) down here.

Flew from Las Vegas, NV to Wichita Falls, TX for mine. 16ish hours back. One of my most memorable experiences with the truck was watching the fuel consumption gauge climb to 22.3mpg and stay there for the entire tank through the hills and bluffs of New Mexico that next morning. Absolutely stellar experience.

I travelled just over 600 miles to get the configuration I wanted. Like Yugo, I flew in and drove it home.

500 miles each way, drove the 2014 up and the 2023 down. The dealers in El Paso are horrible

530 miles one way to Billings MT, to get spec out double cab limited with 6.5' bed (didn't want or need crewmax cab) along without having to pay post covid way over sticker and/or "market adjustment" markups locally at that time. (Did have to pay MSRP). Nice little road trip to break it in.

Flew from Tucson AZ to Casper WY. Drove 1300 miles back that day and the next.
I started the process listening to my local dealers; telling me they would get what I wanted... took me 6~8 months to realize they were full of shit.
Instead of paying 17k over for what I didn't want, I saved 8k and got exactly what I was looking for. Spent 2k to save 20k..
I find a reason to drive it almost every day.. It elicits a response of pure joy!
