So we were driving back home from a little trip on Sunday when the wife spots a Lexus GX550 and instantly says she wants it. Never seen her so hyped about a vehicle before... And one that I actually like as well.

The 2015 Sequoia is paid off and she doesn't want another payment, but I know if I could find one for a good deal that she'd be all over it. We would need one with a 3rd row and the new ones are not gonna happen (way too much). I've been seeing used ones go for anywhere from mid 70s on up. Hell, the new Sequoias are cheaper and you get a little more room, but she wants what she wants.

What are prices in y'all's neck of the woods on these?

    Pic for attention.

Any I've seen in my neck of the woods are $110k plus Canadian. Wife really likes her 21 GX460, but she L-O-V-E-S the new GX, unfortunately for me.

Isn't that a padded up new Landcruiser, which is a tacoma underneath?

Sorta, I believe the GX 550 has the same engine as the new Tundra not the Tacoma. And the GX looks to be the OG design with the new 250 series Land Cruiser being a dumbed down version of the GX.

Around AZ - they're going from high 70's to mid 80's used. There is one in California with 40k miles for $70k.

We considered one but it is way too small for our family. If your family is over 4 people, good luck.

    Great looking vehicle though.

    Just can't use it if you're over 5' 100lbs.

I’m aware. It’s way smaller than the Sequoia. It’s probably fine for in town, but we travel and there is no storage with that third row up.

Can confirm, my dad 14 Sequoia was an actual 7 passenger vehicle with actual cargo space. Our GX is for 5 people with a bit of luggage, or 7 people and a lunchbag

Despite not trusting the powertrain, they look great and tried to talk my wife into one. She loves it, but says her '17 GX460 with 90k on the clock has never had a single issue. "No" is her answer. I am a very lucky man, so at least updated her grill last year.IMG_4416.HEIC.jpg updated her grill for her.

That pic is from the dealership in Texas ,correct.... Price shop them as they are decent BEFORE they put their "Builds" in play....

Finding one and not going into a pre-sale war with other customers is my problem....And , yes.... GX550 are getting a premium price right now...

Same here. Personally I'd take a well cared for 460 or even 470 over the new powertrains, despite how old the 470s are now. And if I were in the market for something in the $70k+ range, I'd also be shopping LX570s. More space, I prefer the looks, and it's a (real) Land Cruiser! There's a '21 here in Houston for around 70 with only 49k miles. A little further out there even better deals.

never understood the hate for the Lexus grilles.

Lexus does the big aggressive grille better than most other manufacturers if you ask me..

No. His wife has the Bronze BBS wheels on her LC.

But if he has bronze wheels on order, I'm game to see the result.
