Got my Tundra back. Dealer had great customer service and have me a Highlander as a rental for the duration. Evidently they get all the parts separately and need to assemble on site which is around 38 hours time. I attached the work order.

    Glad this was under warranty.

After all that work though, As a dealer I probably would have had the truck detailed before having it picked up but I'm nitpicking at this point.

Wow! That's crazy that they got all those parts covered. My guess is the service manager is going to have a hard time getting Toyota to pay for all that. But I could also be wrong, maybe they have the documents to back it all up as being needed...you got a lot more covered than most people. We have only replaced turbos on 1 of our motors. Toyota will cover things like front covers, oil strainers, oil coolers without issue though

Wow, what a fantastic dealer and FTS combo! You're definitely one of the lucky ones

I bought the truck with the Covid shortage from a large corporate type dealership because they were the only ones with the truck. I've been back to them and the customer service was not great. I got the feeling I would get shortchanged by them so I chose a smaller local dealership and I have to say they were super nice from the first call through the entire process. I can't give the people at Crestmont Toyota in Pompton Plains New Jersey enough thanks for taking care of it.

Glad they took good care of you, and hopefully Tundra-2.0 fares better.

How long did they have your truck?

It took around a month. Motor came in in about 3 weeks and they had it a week or so. They said the biggest time factor is that Toyota sends them all the parts separately and they need to assemble on site which he said was 38 hours labor. It would be much less time if the motor had come mostly assembled. But whatever. Good to have it back.

Correct, the recall long block replacement pays 13.6 hours (if my memory is correct); and that's for everything
