I thought I could make it to the end of summer to buy a truck but circumstances changed and I decided this week to pick up a new rig. I sold my 2017 to a friend of a friend and kept the 2019 work truck for dirty work days. I’ll miss my 2017 Tundra for sure. Just about 150K trouble free miles with just wipers, tires, brakes, a battery and regular maintenance since 2017. It needs brakes and tires again and is showing the western NY winters underneath a bit, but that’s to be expected in an almost 9 year old truck. Ill be looking for a new work truck in 2027 and hopefully Toyota has the issues with the 3G well sorted out by then.

As for the new rig: picked up a 2025 GMC 2500HD AT4 (6.6 gas motor) with premium plus package, tech package, snowplow/camper prep package, upfitter switches, etc. As my sales guy said: she’s a beaut!

Just crossed 7,000 miles on the new truck. So far, so good. No initial quality issues and first oil change showed no oil consumption. Fingers crossed!
