    Howdy,

I’m a tall guy, and have a 05’ single cab with the solid bench. I’ve never loved it from a comfort standpoint, and have always dreamed of buckets seats, especially on the rare occasion I’m on the passenger seat and have my knees pressed against the dash. I have desertdoesit seat adjusters, and a lumbar support pillow, and I’m still uncomfortable after 90+ minutes in here, which is very common.

I found someone to swap seats with, and they have two bucket seats. Although, as I really looked at the seats, they’re also basically completely flat, and I wonder how much I’d be able to lean it back considering I’m in a single cab.

Does anyone that’s experienced these seats, either in general or in my particular situation have any feedback? I don’t want to go through the trouble of swapping seats for no reason.

Included should be some photos of the bucket seats in question

    Others opinions probably vary.
I’m just under 6 foot. Mine are almost too comfortable.
Only seats, that have ever fit me perfectly, and I get so comfortable I start getting sleepy because don’t need to keep shifting around to stay comfortable.
I have to watch it after hour or so of driving, or I start getting sleepy without realizing it.
Wife took over after I drove for 1.5 hours this morning because of it.

Coondog would never swap for bucket seats. She loves riding shotgun on her perch. :D

I'm curious why you believe there would be any comfort difference for the driver? Other than the skinny armrest, is there a difference between the two driver seats?

Would the person with the bucket seats let you test drive their truck? Does the regular cab have a solid bench or the 60/40 split bench like the ACs? Could you post up a photo of your interior? I believe the AC drivers seats are essentially the same other than the arm rest between the 60/40 split and the dual buckets.
The tundra seats are slightly more comfortable to me than first gen tacoma seats and older Toyota pickup seats, mainly because of the additional height off the floor, but they've never been that comfortable to me. Doesn't matter if they're split bench or bucket. Always find myself moving around in the seat a lot on long drives.

I’ve never noticed much of a difference between the two. If you prefer the cubby space of the mid-console over that in the fold down section of the bench, go for it.

I love front bench seats. You can get your woman sitting right next to you! :)

You can also fit another best friend up front.

But I also like having a bunch of junk right next to me......and that large storage area in the console of the 2006 double cab....NICE.

    Ugh! First world problems......

I have the 40/60 split bench in my '02 regular cab and my sister has true bucket seat with a center console in her '02. The drivers seats are basically the same in both trucks, but she has a small folding inboard arm rest that gets in my way... I doubt you will be able to tell the difference comfort wise.

I added Wet Okole seat covers to mine and that adds an additional layer of comfortable foam while protecting the seat, it is a little more comfortable that the seat in my '07 also with Wet Okole covers.

Ok, here we go again... THE SEAT BACK AND BOTTOM FOR THE 40/60 BENCH AND THE BUCKET ARE THE SAME FOR THE DRIVES SIDE (AC and RC)!!!!

I have a Captains bucket seat bottom attached to my 40 bench seat top. The seat bottoms and frames (AC and RC) are identical. The only difference in the seat back has the provisioning for the arm rest.
