Yes.. I did this 5 yrs ago with my 2018 TRD sport.
Now I had to redo this for this truck.

2nd time now. I am shocked how long it took to run the wire and get everything connected.

    Yes these are Nilight.

Gotcha....different truck. Fun is running wiring for a compressor and train horns lol. Audio wiring is time consuming as well.

Yeah, it's the Flex. I was getting code P0230 this time.

She has 273,000 miles on her and this is the first issue that I've had with her.

it hardly qualifies as skimping to buy offbrand tires from a reputable shop online. All tire brands were offbrand at the start of their now illustrious albeit overpriced market share. Skimping would be buying a set of 10 year old “brand new” takes offs from Mrs.Smith after her hubby kicked the bucket and slipping the Walmart tire monkey a $20 to install them anyways…

Found the brand on eBay, did some research, found them for the same price at a reputable shop and pulled the trigger.

Quick question for a few of you that have done the steering wheel blackout upgrade from AJT and from MESO...

Last night I threw on the pair I got from AJT and noticed that at the 6 o'clock position on the steering wheel, if you happen to run a finger or two in there, the new trim pieces protrude slightly on the inside and have a bit of an edge to them...

I know, I know... generally speaking, my hand or fingers don't end up in that part of the steering wheel. However, it just seems weird to not have them either a bit more rounded or not protruding as far.

So, question for other AJT folks, when you get a second can you see if yours has the same 'edge' to them???

...and for the MESO folks, what about your trim pieces???? Are they smooth on that inside portion of the bottom of the steering wheel (between the 5 and 7 o'clock positions???

    Thanks in advance

AJT and they stick out the same. I had the same initial reaction but in the year I’ve had them I’ve never encountered an issue with it and honestly don’t even think about it until someone here brings it up.

I had AJT and swapped them for Meso because the slight ridge on the AJT was annoying. Meso is smoother.

    I have the meso's.
The entire exterior of the wheel is smooth. Where I have my hands in this photo is also smooth.smooth.jpg

Where my hands are in the second photo, was the only area I could find with an edge.

Damn, now I have to decide either meso or ajt, when that time comes.

On another note, I was gonna do the shift boot mod, gotta pretty sweet boot I got from redline awhile back for another project. But I remembered I need a Tacoma trd shift knob and since I just bought the black tundra trd shift knob, I'm not going to buy a Tacoma shift knob, not right now anyways. So, I remembered I had a extra American Flag sticker from when I done this same mod in the 17 I had. Whipped this up this morning.

I'm referencing more so if you put you hand or a couple of fingers in the area between the bottom of the steering and airbag, the inside edges are somewhat protruding and a bit sharp...

I just finished mine too!! In the past I used Hood pins, but this time I'm using just a toggle switch. I find that those Hood pins sometimes rust out then they start working intermittently only.
