I’m sorry but I don’t recall when they implemented the auto reverse safety feature. I would give Toyota corp a call and ask them when the safety feature was used to confirm that your Sequoia indeed doesn’t have it.

At this point I'm just mindful of it not stopping or reversing when I hit that up button. Both in her oem switch panel, and my aftermarket panel in my tundra. Thanks for bringing up the safety topic for those that didn't know how dangerous this is.

So i bought one of this crom cartrimhome site.. been using it on and off. Does anyone have this issue where the window is half way down. You go to pull up on the switch and instead of it rolling up, it roll down instead? Then i would caught it while it would do that, let go of the switch, then have to pull up the switch again. This time it would go up automatically like normal. This has been happening couple times already. But only happens on the passenger side. It does not happen all the time but enough to be annoying.

This thread was created to warn people of the potential danger of using these switches and not intended as a discussion about diagnosing issues with the switches. Create a new thread about your issue and I’ll help you out there. I just don’t want to see this sticky thread get completely off topic. Thanks

Which switches did you go with? Everything I’ve seen seems to be all-four auto up/down but I want to only have the front two windows be auto up/down. Thanks.

I never noticed this thread, but I'll add to it.

I have the 3W liner auto up/down module.
It raises the door windows when you lock the truck.
I thought I'd give it a test with a wooden dowel.
It also doesn't have any auto-down, or even stop, if the window encounters resistance while going up.
It wants to keep pushing until you unlock the door...:eek2:

Being aware of this issue, I'll probably remove it if I ever sell or trade the truck..

Exactly why I haven't pulled the trigger on this yet. My kids will likely put their hands in the path of closing! 5&7.

Seems like an opportunity for an aftermarket auto reverse.

The way they typically work is pretty simple, there is a sensor that checks for power load on the motor circuit and reverses if there's a sudden drop. You'd think the companies making these auto switches could include that somehow.
