IMG_8667.jpg IMG_8666.jpg Oiled my tow mirrors. Passenger side was really hard to move in and out. I used Remington gun oil. I sprayed the inside and oiled the sliding arms. They slide in and out better now. Bottom mirror moves easier now too. I tried to pop the mirror off to get a better look, but was afraid of breaking them. It’s good enough for now.

I appreciate the info! Yea I have it shoved past that ring. Still will not tighten down. I think Stillen may have not drilled the hole properly. I just gorilla taped over the hole to seal it. The one is sturdy enough I think. Doesn’t move when I push on it. Hopefully won’t have to eat my words on this one haha.

A lot of work to end up where I started. The passenger side front strut leaked out its oil. I really liked the ride and how the 2nd setting leveled out my truck with the 6112s, I got another set to replace the blown one. That one fought me from the start to finish. The strut mount nuts and studs were pretty rusty. One came off by working it back and forth using the nut to chase the rust off. The second locked up tight and cause the stud to turn inside the mount. I got it backed off enough to get a saw blade under it and cut it off. The back 2 spun in the mount right away. I used a pneumatic belt sander to grinder off the stud and nuts. Re-assembly was a snap after that. I also replaced the rear shocks with 4600s since I am at stock height in the rear. That went pretty easy. They weren't in terrible shape for 75k miles.

Installing LED blinkers, brake/park, and reverse lights today on my 2018 CM.
I like the fact they are 100% plug and play and no resistors needed.

I’ll do the rest of the LED’s another day.

I used this guy. The tip and 1/2 width allow it to do some precision grinding. It took 4 sanding belts to grind of the two the studs and nuts. It took about 5 minutes apiece. It removes a lot of material in a short period of time.

As with all decisions, another option has presented itself. I'll be buying this one tomorrow, unless there is something I have overlooked.

Yes, the front chrome grill and bumper ends have been spray painted black. They will be replaced once I buy it. I also noticed the halogen headlights... Again, to be replaced by OEM LEDs.

Entering the VIN into Toyota, it came factory equipped with trd rear sway, BBS rims, bed liner, leather seats, it also has an aluminum skid plate. These are all things I would have personally done anyway.

Are these rims exactly the same as the PRO?

@ThatGuyTheCooler unfortunately 48k is current market price for 2021 sr5 with low mileage. I just bought one too for $53k.

I was perusing Carmax yesterday and saw a few 2.5 gens retailing for more than 3rd gens and they were upper $40k’s. Insane to me.

So, those wheels appear to be OE Pro wheels, but can't confirm w/o seeing the back side of the wheel.

edit: those are not the BBS Forged TRD PRO wheels.

Couple things to consider in your decision making process. This vehicle has 4x the mileage, and it's had 3 different owners. The first one you posted showed only a single owner.

The leather seats/seat covers are just that; either an aftermarket cover or someone upgraded the material to leather, but that vehicle shows OE seats were cloth.

First owner only had it for 10 months and put 3,700 miles on it...

Second owner only had it for 5 months and put 10,000 miles on it...

Third owner had it for for just over 3 years and put 34,000 miles on it...

First owner registered in NC, but the vehicle was serviced in TN

Sold all three times by the same dealer in TN. I know CarFax lists these as all personal ownerships and folks sometimes register out of state for tax breaks, but I'd be realllllllly curious if this vehicle didn't spend time as a dealer DEMO or similar activity those first 2 'owners'... Also, why the quick turn around if they were personally owned??? Might be nothing, but could be something worth looking at :notsure:

Also, production date of this truck is September 2020, which is kind of in the heart of all the QC quirks... Again, maybe nothing, but something to consider. Spend extra time looking for signs of poor QC in places that are not easily spotted, such as door jams, body panel reveals, missing weatherstripping, rust that may be covered up by sprays and protective type applications like fluid film, etc...

Looks like that one dealer in TN dealt with it throughout and up to 48,000 miles....

Here's something else that's interesting... the last loan was "released" Feb 2025 (porobably when the vehicle was sold or traded in); 2 months later emissions test and safety inspections (I'm guessing vehicle landed somewhere that auctioned it off or sold off to another dealer); Month and a half later it lands in PA and that dealer receives title at the beginning of June but then doesn't put up for sale until the end of the month... why??? Either a LOT of reconditioning (maybe seat cover replacements, etc.) or something else.

But, I think you'd want to definitely speak w/that dealership in TN and find out more about ownership/use (if you can), and then dig A LOT when inspecting the vehicle.

If this truck works better for you than the other one, by all means don't let me sway your decision... But, the history and transferring around of this vehicle doesn't make a lot of sense to me and personally, I'd look to confirm or dispel some of that history and movement of the vehicle. IMHO, the other truck you listed is a 'cleaner' purchase from the perspective of single owner and pretty obvious use and history....

The pop n lock kit is a nice feature for convenience, and to some extent security, but not as secure as one would think. Hear me out. I think manually locking and unlocking is most secure method. It just ran across my mind… as I have a lockable tonneau cover with the tailgate pop n lock feature. Even though my tonneau cover is locked, someone can easily break my window press the unlock door switch, now my tailgate is unlocked and thief now has full access to my secured items in the bed. Whereas, if no pop n lock kit installed, then my tailgate would still be locked plus tonneau cover locked. Thief would not have immediate access to my bed items. Definitely something to think about. Convenience vs Better Security. Hope that makes sense.

Seems fully worth the extra $6k to me as well for the other one. 11k miles, single owner, and untouched will always get my vote, especially for just a little bit more. It's just a better deal, IMO.

Great write up on the history and concerns.

Most all the CF was ordered off Amazon. All the blacked trim was AJT design off Amazon.Shifter knob off Amazon.
I ordered a lot from Amazon because of the great return policy in case I don't like the look or fitment
