Well it seems as of recently that ID.me is no longer available for GA, FL, NC, SC residents. Has anyone been able to get the $500 military appreciation discount from Toyota another way? The dealer I'm working with says if I can't go through ID.me then there's nothing they can do about it.

Is the problem with logging into ID.me or Toyota not honoring the discount?

Just logged into ID.me in South Carolina. No issues there.

the DD214 should speak for itself!! They dont need you to log on to your insurance account or a letter from the DMV so why not let a legal document do what it does?
    ID.Me is fickle at times.

I have no idea what you are eluding to with ID.ME in these states. I am in GA, use ID.ME all the time and am currently having an issue trying to login to my VA benefits page. I'm even using a VPN and am not showing myself in GA. Hmmmm

I have done 2 searches and see nothing with using ID.ME in GA or problems. This has me scratching my head.

IMG_0193.jpg I see on the Toyota website where it states ID.me verification is available in the states you mentioned. That’s probably a South East Toyota thing for using ID.me as a platform for verification. I’ve used the discount buying two Toyotas in SC. I don’t recall using ID.me in either case, but the most recent purchase was October 2020.

in any case, look at the sales price of the vehicle. If the dealer is giving you a good price without the discount, they’re probably taking the hit on profit for not processing the rebate.

Thanks for including the image. I should have done that since no one seems to believe what I am saying lol. The dealer doesn't accept proof in any other form and I asked that question as well. Any idea if reaching out to Toyota would be of any help? Kind of sucks that the four southern states are left out.

Their military appreciation is a joke, especially only being $500. It doesn't change your payment but by a few dollars.

The dealership should reach out to Toyota as I'm sure they accept some other way in those states to prove Mil/Veteran status other than ID me, especially if ID.me specifically states it doesn't work in those areas. After all its a Military discount not an ID.me discount.

They said they can’t do anything about it and the dealership doesn’t offer a discount. No big deal but interesting that no one else has mentioned this before.

    I’m appreciative of it. Doesn’t matter if it’s $5 or $500.

This is not a problem with ID.me… I use it all the time in SC.

It sounds like a dealer problem. Like I said, I’ve bought two new Toyotas from SET dealers and had the rebate included in the deal. I believe I just showed them my mil ID card.

you could contact Toyota customer relations, but I think I’d just look at other dealers.

It clearly states on the website that it’s not available in those states. How would it not be an ID.me issue? I just bought another Toyota nearby in GA and also used my ID to get the rebate.

ID.me is just a verification company, kinda like credit reporting agencies or data brokers. SET or selling dealer probably doesn't want to pay a fee to participate. Honestly, the rebate deal is more to generate sales traffic than give a meaningful discount to customers; I'm sure Toyota/SET/selling dealer makes up that $500 in the numbers shell-game, financing, or both. The goal is to get a buyer in the door to bite.

Here's the current offer from SET (Southeast Toyota covers AL, GA, FL, NC, SC) found here: https://www.toyota.com/southeasttoy...-414d-af55-a99012b84a85/?vehicles=toyotacrown

The dealer I’m looking at isn’t in the SE region. Would those terms still apply? It’s in Kansas City, MO.

The terms I posted apply to SET. Kansas City is in a different distribution network. You'd have to research the terms of the selling dealer for any incentives.
