There's been a few posts about speaker upgrades, but I've never felt any of them were really great. Here's my attempt at it.

Going through my pictures, I definitely could have taken more. Any ways, here we go.

I ended up going with CS series Kickers for both the front and that back. The front are 6.75" and back 6.5". Both needed mounting brackets and wiring harnesses.

    Front Kicker 6.75" (46CSC674)
    Front wiring adapter (Merta 72-9301)
    Front speaker bracket (SAK098)

    Rear Kicker 6.5" (46CSC654)
    Rear wiring adapter (Merta 72-8104)
Rear speaker bracket (Generic jungle store)

    The goods

The rears were really straight forward. Take the door panel off as seen in countless videos. Unplug the wiring harness, remove the speaker mount from the door, mount the new bracket, plug in the wiring adapter, plug in the new speaker, mount it to the bracket and button everything back up. I didn't take many pictures of the rears. It really was just plug and play for me. Here’s what rears looked like to start with.

The fronts is where the fun began. The start isn't real different from the rears. Remove the door panel.

Unplug the harness and remove the the speaker mount from the door. I wanted to keep the whole wiring harness in tact and still use the tweeter (I can upgrade those in the future), so I ended up getting the back and forthy saw out. Be careful of the wiring when cutting.

Ran the wires where they needed to go

Mounted the existing bits to the new speaker bracket with some short coarse screws.

Mounted the new bracket up to the door, connected the new speaker, mounted it and reconnected the speaker harness.

Looks like the pictures are a host issue. All the pictures in my build thread are hosted at the same place; some of them are showing, some aren't. Have a little patience and give it a bit. If they don't appear in a while, I'll have to figure something else out.

If possible, always upload them here. Too many good threads such as this have gone to hell because pics at hosting sites other than here crap out, similar to your build thread pics crapping out.

Alright. Give me a second. Maybe even more time to redo my build thread too. That one may take a bit longer.

I've got to do my trip reports and fix it threads too, don't I? This is going to be a project.

From my Apple (which is far superior to any android) I copy the photo from the photos app and just past it right in the posts. Drag and drop works on the Mac as well

    Ah a man of culture.
You can just hit upload a file, select images from you library and bobs your uncle. If you want them in context in the post you can hit ‘thumbnail’ and it will add it at the cursor.
