Almost 3 years since I created a thread so I guess I should rectify that. I've been on every so often lurking in the background and I guess I should rectify that also. Been a very difficult few years, a few vacations at the local hospital, kept having to switch doctors till I found some that actually want to do their job and of course I'm unable to work which means I'm now on disability. But I do have a diagnosis finally and I'm learning how to do things so I can stay on feet.

Poor truck has been neglected in the whole mess, time to rectify that also. I really hate that plastic tailgate handle, I've broken 3 so far. Found a metal one on Amazon

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098BQJLFR

Installed yesterday, let's see how it holds up. Window tint was looking kinda shabby so just had it all replaced except the windshield, the 50% carbon ceramic tint seems to be holding up well after 5 years. Just had the rack and pinion replaced with an OEM unit (ouch), picked up a new radio, door speakers, a pair of 8's and a bass amp, I should be able to get that done in the next few weeks. Yukon had a sale a couple of weeks ago and I ordered a 3rd member with 4.30 gears and LSD $1650 shipped, shop has me tentatively scheduled for somewhere in the 1st week of August. The bushings on the Suspension Maxx extended sway links went bad, they just sent me a new set under warranty, you gotta love when a company stands behind their products. I'm sure I'm missing something but it's all good

Welcome bk; glad ur on ur feet too.
Q: 1. Is the entire part made of metal ?
    2. Is the finish actual paint or 'electro-plated' like some replacement body parts are ?

Like you, I can’t read the box. Resolution isn’t high enough. I just noticed it was chrome colored so I don’t know if that’s a turn-off or not.

That trq is shiny I really don't know if it's the same through all the years.

    1. Nope, the handle is metal and the body feels like thick abs.
    2. I think it's paint, I did drop it on the cement and it's still good
Oh the truck was missing the key cylinder when I brought it, and some point I have to make my way to the stealership and get a replacement

Sorry to hear about your ills and I hope your wife is doing better.
Getting old sucks but I can accept that part, but that's not what screwed me. I have a genetic disease called Marfan syndrome, it's caused some issues with my lungs (amongst other minor things), because of this lung issue my Dr, family and the misses pressured me to get the vaccine. Do you know that we all have numerous autoimmune diseases that are dormant in our bodies and may never be an issue but certain medications and vaccines can trigger them. I don't have any 1 disease, I have symptoms from at least 3 so I fall into a category called mixed connective tissue disease. Thank you Pfizer

Shit that's right. We talked about the Marfan thing previously. Maybe it was in one of the group PMs.

Actually, the autoimmune condition I've got, it's pretty common, they don't know what causes it, very little is known about it except how to diagnose it. What she has is genetic, and considered a form of cancer, but not in the traditional sense.

Mine didn't come out of the woodwork until the late 20s. Hers was diagnosed at 50.

Which do you have? I'm easy going now that I'm getting up there in years, I can deal with my issues but I hate to see my wife going through hers.
I have symptoms of lupus, sjogrens and rheumatoid arthritis. Funny thing is 90% of the cases of mixed connective tissue disease are women, my wife said now I'm the bitch in the relationship

My dr said there's over 150 known autoimmune diseases and how and why they switch on and off at various points in life is a mystery. Right now I'm learning how to keep it flaring up, if I can control that then I'm kinda ok. Avoid the sun (I live in the sunshine state ), proper amounts of rest between activity and stay calm (no stress or anxiety). I did get a tint medical exemption so the popo can't say sht about my tinted windshield.

    Yep.

One of my friends here in town has an unknown autoimmune disease, more like an affliction. All of his joints are fusing together. Not like RA, physically growing together, joint bedamned. No swelling, just turning into one long slab of unbendable bone. His sibling passed of a super rare form of cancer a few years back. Kinda makes me wonder if they didn't have a dirty/dump site nearby childhood home or something? As much as people have been taught to hate the EPA, taunt people who try to get certain pesticides banned, regulate who can dump what/where/how/etc., I think we've ultimately fucked ourselves so some corporation can make all its execs rich.

Jeez, that sounds painful. EPA and many other agencies have been compromised and we the public have been forced to pay the price

Welcome back!! As far as the Suspension Max sway bar links are concerned the torque specs on those things was not much greater than hand tight (slight exaggeration) my mechanic asked that I stop back by after a month or so just so he could re-inspect them.

Yeah I got that info from them back when I purchased them, I believe the shop may have screwed them up when they did the rack and pinion. Unfortunately I'm limited on what I can do and I'm forced to rely on mechanics.

Today was a bit overcast and I felt froggy so I crawled under the truck and adjusted my parking brake cable. Now it's time for a shower and a nap
