Found this dude on youtube and plan on copying a lot of what's going on there.

From what I gather these would be the parts he used/I would need.

    - Dual battery mount/kit (underhood or cab) Genesis Offroad/SDHQ/Rocky Road $350–$800 (Probably not needed as I plan on also placing the battery under the rear seats)
    - Dual battery management (isolator, ACR) Blue Sea ML-ACR $180–$350
    - Auxiliary Battery (AGM, 120Ah, under seat) Kickass $350–$600 (battery only)
    - Main Cables (4-gauge, kit or bulk) Blue Sea $60–$120
    - Major Circuit Breakers (125A, 30A) Blue Sea $30–$70
    - Fuse Block (6–12 circuit, Blue Sea style) Blue Sea $40–$80
    - Ground straps, connectors, terminals Various $30–$60
    - Solar charge controller $90–$200
    - Solar panel (100W+) $120–$300

First change for me though would be to get this lithium battery instead and add a Renogy 1000w inverter:

I plan on adding a light bar on the windshield, and spotlights on the fender and the 'raptor lights' in the grille. Apart from that I'd just like to be able to charge my laptop/devices while out on the road.. and if this setup can handle it MAYBE a very tiny fridge.

Here's to hoping my truck doesn't blow up :nuclear:

I think you’re overdoing it if you just want to have a couple lights and charge your phone; the factory alternator will be more than capable of running lights; myself included has a bunch of lights and a winch running at the same time

the fridge is a different story, if you only want the fridge running when the truck is running, no need for the second battery, but if you want to leave the fridge in at all times then yes a “house” battery will be important. But if you’re going home regularly, why not just have a battery you throw in the back that you plug the fridge into when you aren’t driving, but when you are you just plug it into the truck? (Then after a few days when the second battery gets low, just pull it out and charge it)

just my two cents instead of spending almost a grand on electrical stuff for extreme overkill

Are you concerned with running all these lights with the truck off for an extended period of time, or will this be with the engine running?

If you have the factory tow package, you already have a beefed up alternator.
I would get a strong battery up front (could go duals if you want)...then maybe look at a HO alternator, but probably dont even need it. i've got about 2kw RMS stereo, and never even the slightest dimming of lights or a hiccup at high volume.

Look into something like an ecoflow to power a fridge or charge any other electronics. You can get a alternator charger to hardwire it into the charging system on the truck.

Hmm interesting.. I had my interior LED lights above the dash flicker and thought it was due to lack of power but is prolly due to something else then. I didn't necessarily plan on running too the lights or anything with the engine off but I guess my thought was that better to have the ability to than not.

This is my first time dealing w/ anything electrical so didn't realize this would be overkill.

Guess it's back to the drawing board for now. Thanks for saving my wallet guys, this honeymoon phase has me thinking of spending like a madman on mods I probably wont need

What’s your plan with the fridge? That’s really the only big decider… is it only for camping? Etc

I think il just get a flow like @Danimal86 suggested and just get a higher quality main battery for peace of mind.
