    Hello all,

Before I go any further, I apologize for asking this. I have looked for the last three days and I can't find a definitive answer when searching the forums. I'm sure the answer is somewhere there but I can't find it. Secondly, I know aftermarket is the way to go and if I was going to do that then I would go with Kenwood Excelon. However, with the job market being as precarious as it is right now, I just don't have the $$$ to spend on a top end stereo.

That being said, I can get my hand on a relatively cheap 2015 JBL Toyota Sequoia stereo off of an acquaintance that I would love to replace my 2008 head unit with.

Before I go this route does anyone know if this is possible and if I will be able to retain all settings (steering wheel controls and res). I suspect I will be able to, but I just want to be sure.

Lastly, our of curiosity, for those of you who have stuck with OEM. What is the newest OEM head unit that you have put into your Gen 2?

    Thanks for reading and considering.

Is your 2008 head unit JBL as well? Typically there are issues with trying to swap from JBL to non-JBL and vice versa that make it more trouble than it's worth, if it's even possible. Sometimes the JBL head units and in-vehicle amps go hand in hand meaning you can't swap one without the other. If they're both JBL your chances go up. This thread has a bunch of pictures of the 2015 wiring, could use them to cross compare to your wiring, and/or if you can pull your radio to compare to your acquaintance's 2015 radio you could compare connectors to start. Could also look at the wiring diagrams and pin outs to see what all lines up.

I would probably just email the guys over at Auto Harness House inquiry@autoharnesshouse.com and ask them, they'd probably know right away if it's possible and if so, what if anything you'd need.
