Toyo open country AT3 or BF Goodrich Ko3’s?

Which one in your experience is quieter?

    Alot of them
Stay away from the BFG. They are known for balancing issues.

I had a set of Cooper Road and Trail put on 3 months ago and they seem to be quiet. They’re not as aggressive as KO’s, put their far from car tires.

Same on the wife’s jeep. Really liking them so far.

My truck came with the Toyo AT3's and I am pretty satisfied with them.
    Can't speak for the other.
On the Jeep I used to have, I ran Goodyear Wrangler AT's with Kevlar and was always satisfied with those.
That Jeep came with Cooper tires that howled like crazy and I removed them far before needed at 30K because they were so loud in an SUV. Actually made my ears ring.

I just put on a set of Cooper Strongholds yesterday. The design and construction appear to be a g nice balance for a truck that does truck stuff, overland style off road and towing.

While it is too early to judge anything, they are noticeably louder than my old BFG KO2.

KO2 yes (I had it), but I had not heard much about the KO3 sharing the issue. Good to know.

Really? That sucks, the guy at discount said it’s their most popular tire. The tread pattern looks loud after what you said.

I had some Falkens and they have vibration and I can’t get rid of. Balanced 4 times and discount is wiling to swap to something else.

I’ve never read a problem with Toyos on here. Almost want to go back to old school Michelin LTX MS2. I just dislike the look of them. I know they are quiet though. I never tow. I off road like once a year. It’s a pavement princess otherwise.

probably will go with standard load

I think the k03 is quieter now and has better water traction.

I just honestly need a HT tire at this point.

I have a set of stealth custom series wheels I was gonna use, so I know those are quality wheels. Just need some tires that will work with them. The Toyos are one of the few AT I can find with SL options. All the rest are E rated.

Just get theKO3's you want and call it a day. If you are looking for quiet tires you should be asking about highway tires. Your main concern for an AT should be all weather type of performance in say, winter or muddy conditions.

Probably my main concerns are wet traction, some off road, and road manners.

I'd bet they are close enough off road. The wet was a real issue for my KO2s and what has kept me away from trying the new ones. Always been happy running Toyos, but I have the AT2, not 3.

I may check out the Toyos, I like they are made in Japan and commonly seem people with Toyotas like them. I’ll have to try them out. Michelins are fine, I’ve just had issue with premature wear previously. Appreciate everyone’s opinion!

I ran the Toyo AT3s on my 2014 Sequoia Platinum and run KO3s on my 2025 Tundra Limited 4X4. Previously to the Toyos on the Sequoia, I ran KO2s so lots of experience with both tires. I can confirm the KO2s were a PITA to keep balanced, but never had any issue in snow or rain. The KO3s fixed the balance issue and l’ve been very happy with them in the rainy Pacific Northwest. They are also quieter than the KO2s. All that said the Toyo AT3s are quieter on road and slightly more comfortable. They are both GREAT tires but given your use case I’d recommend the Toyo. Good luck!

I ran Continental Terrain Contact ATs on my 2019. Very quiet.

Those look really nice. I decided on the Toyos for now and we will see how they work out. I’ll let everyone know and post a pic!

I doubt this is a problem for you, but might as well ask. Any snow and ice experience with these Continentals?

Yes, they did very well in a 6-8” snow accumulation between Branson, MO and Little Rock, AR. They have a decent amount of siping, and the compound isn’t too hard. You can see some of the siping in this pic.
