Wouldn't brush or roll but at least spray (while wearing a respirator). Harbor freight has an HVLP spraygun on sale now for $12 ... add a pressure gage (or buy the one with it for $19) add a water/oil filter <$5 and a quart of paint with hardner, and reducer

 

Pretty sure that's to discharge and recharge the gas. I got the cheaper non adjustable ones. Cheaper being subjective as there were like 900 I think

That guy has a good channel. His voice bothers me and some of the concentrate videos he does (like the Red Bull or energy drink one) are stupid, but he has really good content.

My draw bar aint goin nowhere. My strap isn't kinetic, and it's short.
I've got no metal hook on the end to become a heavy projectile in my direction. It's looped in itself.
I've done a lot of super sketchy shit before, this isn't one of them.

Any of y’all know anything about chainsaws? I figure in a pro-internal combustion engine crew like this maybe we have a few. I need some help troubleshooting. I may have smoked my husky 394 last night, but I want to try to fix it.

 

I think @Bought2Pull might know a thing or two about 2 stroke engine. However, if you want to take a trip up to flower mound, I’d be happy to take a look at it with you.

Basic gist of it is I’ve been using this saw for milling. It’s a big boy, like 94 cc. Me and a buddy were working on a big red oak last night and I had the full 36” bar buried in a cut wide open for like a few minutes straight. I’ve done stuff like that before without any problems. But like 2/3 through the cut, the saw started to slow and bog down. We took the saw out and let it cool, but now when it starts up, even this morning, it is running at a noticeably lower rpm even when I’m holding it wide open. And if you try to cut with it, the chain just stops, but engine keeps running. Makes me think not a clutch problem because it’s an issue even without resistance. Maybe a carb issue? I’m just hoping I didn’t smoke the actual piston or cylinder. Because it was hot outside and we were running it hard.

Pull the plug, pop the muffler off and rotate until you can see the piston through the exhaust port, see if you can see any scoring, if not you’re probably fine in that department.
Drain the fuel and put fresh mix in.
Could be more than one problem too; clutch may be unhappy too after that kinda work, carb could need work, how’s the air filter, plug?
I had a hard to diagnose issue with a Stihl 070 on a mill, would run okay but then not at random, turned out to be the spark plug, the insulation on the electrode had come loose and would slide around.
I’ve got a 394xp on a mill, it’s a good saw, worth repairing.

 

Start with pulling the spark plug and posting a photo of it here. Running the engine hard shouldn't have hurt the carb at all. Most of my two stroke experience is with motorcycles, so not too familiar with chainsaw clutches. Will the engine rev freely if you give it gas or is it bogging?

 

Unscrew your gas cap, does it have a lot of vacuum? I have a little 240 from 2012 that I've kept running. Just had to get a vented cap because the built in tank vent just wouldn't stay open, and it's buried in the housing.
Anyway, just something to check, see if it's starving out because the tank won't vent, like with heavy use/debris.

Also pull the chain bar and guard off and make sure it’s not jammed or plugged up with debris. Make sure the bar oiler port is open and not plugged. Is the chainsaw oriented sideways, up and down or what for this mill rig you got going?

 

You guys warned me. Did I listen? Of course not. Bought a power window switch for my Mom's Mazda mini van on Amazon. Lasted 3 months. Lesson learned.
