Bumpy Ride

    2024 1794 Edition Tundra TRD Package
    I had my 2024 Tundra (1794 Edition, 4x4 Offroad) lifted to about 2”. I changed the tire to 35, 12.5, 20 using a 26” offset. After the lift, the ride became bumpy. I know after a lift, it will be bumpy but I did not anticipated a real bad ride. I was looking at Westcott lift but somehow my mechanic was able to changed my mind and went with Eibach stage1. I am not familiar with these things… any recommendation to make my ride smoother?

    did you check you tire pressure? makes a big difference if you run them hard/tall or short/soft for which road type your on. My previous lifts have also taken a few days/week to really settle in.

    I had the Eibach stage one on my 2016, it was a bit harsh at first but settled in nicely. I was pretty happy with it overall. Much better damping, you hit a bump and it absorbs it and levels out, doesn't keep cycling the suspension if that makes sense. Planted is a good way to describe it, may be slightly harsher initially but smoother overall.

    I drive a fair amount of washboard gravel road and rough pavement, go faster (within reason) it really smooths out with the Eibach kit. In my 2016 the back end was all over the place in those conditions stock. Thinking about the Eibach stage two for my 2024 TRD OR, but it is pretty good stock so far honestly. Not really worried about a lift, just interested in better suspension performance.

    I agree with the others. The lift should settle and smooth out after a few rough rides. You can take it on some bumpy or forest roads and that’ll help speed up that process. Also depending upon the type of shock the truck will get smoother the faster you drive, usually when you hit the 35mph range. The 35” tires are going to make it rougher as well in general. Especially if you have a more aggressive tread. I’ve gone through a few different sets and brand makes a big difference as far as smoothness goes. I had 34” coopers that ran rough and 35” falkens that ride amazing.

    Unfortunately 20” wheels have less rubber as well so that will play a factor in ride quality too. Some say it doesn’t but I tend to think it does.
