Following. My July '24 built 2024 Limited does this as well. But I suspect it could be something as simple as an exhaust hanger loose somewhere - had that happen in the past on my tacoma with a similar noise.

Interested to see if anyone else knows what this is

Toyota called back they were able to replicate it so warranty will be used. The advisor even said thats not normal they checked exhaust and pipes nothing wrong from physical inspection. Advisor mention teardown of engine if engineers see nothing with diag tools. This could get dirty quick.

Yup if they do do it its not gona run the same. I just may ask for buy back. I thought Toyota would have fixed all issues with it being 4 years later.

Some folks have a transmission rattle... maybe that is what this is? That would be better then a failing main bearing anyway.

Is that fixable issue or nor.al to Toyota. Be cause a new truck that cost 50g and up shouldn't sound like the tow truck from the Cars movie.

My truck has been doing this for months - but only seems to happen with the A/C is running. I can't really hear it in the cab. Truck is running excellent though, beyond the annoying trans learning that I have to reset every 4-5k miles until they get the shift maps worked out.

I'd be surprised if this was directly engine-related given the source of the sound underneath the truck. Transmission rattle possible, but it's making the noise in park with the trans disengaged so...

PLEASE let us know what they find out and if possible press them for specifics on the fix. I'm only at 15k miles on mine, literally the exact same sound when idling / AC on.

Thanks for the update! I don't think it's a catastrophic thing - I've easily driven 7-8k since I noticed it and no performance issues... but would prefer it to not sound like a jalopy :)

Sounds like the compression shaft is binding up against the blowdown sensor housing assembly.
