I need to drain and fill my transmission fluid, but to be honest, the 1 million different threads on this and what to do, what not to do, etc etc - have me a little freaked out.

One thing I know for sure, is that it seems to be a must to be able to detect the temperature of the fluid regardless of what method you decide to use.

With that said, is there a scan tool that will do what I need, maybe a few other essentials if needed down the road that priced right and good quality? Just looking for recommendations.

    Thanks!

Get a $15 Amazon Bluetooth OBD2 reader and use a phone app like Torque Pro

OBD Link MX+ extremely easy to use, all the PIDs are already there and you don't need to manually enter them like you would with the cheap ones. Also it automatically turns itself off so you can leave it plugged in 24/7. They also have amazing customer service if you ever have any issues.

This with the cheap Veepeak dongle has worked well for me. The Toyota PIDS package is worth the few bucks, too.

You'll find the products used will be personal choice, but the overall concepts are the same. They do Similar things and we're all lookig for those same data points. Similar to the fluid change process, a few ways to do it, similar end results.

    Good luck!

I have a tablet mounted in my truck and use a pop up window with this display. It's very customizable as far as looks, size and what you want to display.
