It's an illness. Paid off, fully modded, bought a TRD Sport, built a North Carolina beach truck.
Just realized I only have a picture I took while changing oil.

I've been thinking of getting one of those since before I bought mine. Helped haul donated cat and dog food on Tuesday, and was glad I didn't. Easy to just have the forklift put the pallet in the bed.

I’m way too cynical. Softoppers look cool, but all I see is, all the security and water intrusion of an open bed and also a bunch of time to remove it and put it back if you need an actual open bed.

I’ve seen a hardtop that hinges where the front by the cab stays in place, and the rest of it flips up like a standard flat hard cover does. I’ll see if i can find it.

Decided to try AGM battery to see what all the rave about. Walmart had the H7/94R in stock. Under $200.. not bad. Had to get a different battery tie down since the factory one is not flat. Reused the tie down rods and it fit great.
Also threw in the voltage booster pro while I'm at at. At the low position i see 13.9v. Switch to high and see 14.4v. Both at cold start up. This is what the maestro shows on the radio. Not sure if i should leave it on low or high.
    Any suggestion???20250718_192740.jpg 20250718_192731.jpg 20250718_193127.jpg

Yessir they do. The size 94r/h7 is same as the 27f only shorter.. you need to trim the battery tray on both shorter size so the battery will sit flush. Otherwise it dropped right in..

    My experience wasn't so positive.

Installed an AGM battery in February. Like you noted, it was shorter. I cheated and cut a piece of pine 2 x 10 to raise the battery up so the posts and clamps were not stressed.

    Battery internally shorted in June.

Let me tell you, the truck does some wild things when a battery is randomly shorting. Radio comes on when you close the door was the 1 st thing I noticed. Cruise

Oh snap. Which agm battery did you had? I need to keep an eye on it if that's the case. Now I'm paranoid.

Would shut off, voltage gauge would bounce all over the place, speedo would read 90 mph, then drop back to the 35 mph you were actually going. Those are the things I can recall.

Happy I made it home. Yanked that POS and installed the original battery that came with the '21.

Things have been normal for the last month and a half.

I think I'm ok with flooded cell batteries for now. I'll wait until AGM batteries become more reliable.

You got a “shit happens” battery. AGM is not new technology and is well tested in harsh environments.

Sorry about the 2 section post. Finger hit send by accident.
I got the battery from Amazon. The battery is now located in a scrap yard somewhere. I could look for previous purchases, but I really don't want to negatively post info about a sellers item.

I'm perfectly willing to accept that I got a fluke of a battery. Everything has an allowed failure rate. I just got the bad one. It happens.

The one thing that I can post that may be valuable...is that I have never had a flooded cell battery go bad so fast. I have always had a week or so of slow cranks letting me know the battery was at EOL.

The AGM started amazingly right up to the day I noted the weird shit going on with the electronics.

Holds my keyless fob perfectly...of course I forget it's there and leave the truck parked in random parking lots. Not remembering until I'm half way home that anyone could have hopped in the truck and off they go.

Only in Central Virginia but the dang humidity and the chemo makes me feel like I’m back in Qatar. Freezing inside but burning up outside. I’ll get my energy back sometime and be able to wrench more. Only really like 90’s with high humidity.

So sorry to hear you are dealing with this. So unsolicited advice, chemo does some weird fucked up shit to your body and mind. Don't push it, working on a truck is the last thing you need to deal with now. There will be time to do that later, get well first.

Good luck with the chemo, I'm not in that position but I can't really walk very well right now, knee replacement in a couple weeks but I know that's not a big deal.
    Best of luck.

Replacing the OEM JBL subwoofer tomorrow with a 10” JL Audio 10TW1-2 in a ported box built by Taylor’s Audio. It will be connected to a Kicker CXA660.5 five channel amplifier. The subwoofer output of the amp is 300 watts RMS at 2 Ohms so it should pair up nicely with the new sub.

Had the shop fix the problem with them installing the Eibach boot into the front (should be used for the rears) and since they had the springs off to re-installed the OEM springs. I wanted the factory ride height but with better strut compression. It rides so much better than the OE black struts.

Today, I'll be installing the rear Eibach shocks, rear brake pads, removing black TRD sway bar and installing the 27lb RED TRD sway bar, removing TRD skid plate and reinstalling the OE thin skid plate for easier maintenance. And maybe do diff fluids and a few of other things. Busy weekend!
