I'm planning to change out the Limited wheels on my '21 Tundra. I'd like to stick with something 18", OEM and I'd like to do gunmetal. I have seen lots of Toyota wheels in gunmetal that are 17" and 20" but I haven't seen any in 18". Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Where are you located? There's a guy on marketplace local to me in So Cal that powder coats OEM wheels and currently has a set of OEM gunmetal wheels for sale n they look amazing! I was considering the bronze ones he has but I don't have the funds to pull that trigger.

I am in Virginia so I'm a little too far away for that to make sense with shipping I'm afraid.

    Dayumm... that does look good!!

I've thought about getting my OEM TRD's powdercoated in Gunmetal. I calmed down but now seeing those the wheels in my head are turning again!

That color would look goood on my SSM.

those do look good in gunmetal. How much does a powder coat job like that usually cost? That might be a good option for me.

Depends on the place, the specific powder, and condition of the wheels. In general, for a set of 4 wheels in good condition, you will possibly be around 500. If your wheels are damaged and need additional prep, that ads to the cost. Some powders are more expensive too, and some shops are more expensive then others. But roughly 500 for a set of 4 wheels is a good expectation.

Plus probably some to get your tires removed, then remounted and balanced.

There's also the logistics of needing either a spare set of wheels/tires, or having your truck out of commission on jackstands for however long the shop takes to get them done.

Good points, I did this to a second set of wheels so I didn't have to deal with tires cause they weren't installed.

But great point about timeline, I didn't think about that since it was a non issue. Most shops should be able to give you a timeline, just add in a few days for safety if your truck is going to be on jacks. Also ask if they remount and balance the wheels or if you will need to go elsewhere for that service. The shop I used stated they could put the rubber on but they would not balance the wheels.

You should hit up the guy n see what he says about a possible trade for your wheels. I didn't check out his wheels in person but when I messaged him about the bronze wheels, he told me he's been in the business for about 20+ yes so might be worth checking out. He's in Perris so not too far from you.

The logistics was a challenge for me. I ended up buying a set of SR5 18" wheels with semi decent tires for $100 from Craigslist then used those as rollers for the week that my OEM 20s were being painted. Then ended up painting the sr5's and keeping them on the shelf for future install which is now what I'm running.
Now I'm selling my stock coated 20" wheels and tires.

I was thinking the same thing, I saw his mention of possible trade-ins for similar wheels.

My 2021 Trail Ed. had them as part of the package. They are out there as OEM somewhere.
