    Hey all,
Looking at picking up some 18" wheels for my truck.

Having a hard time deciding what route to go.

Was checking out the gunmetal SCS ray10 or blaze10, but not 100% sure I want to drop to a 17" wheel.

Icon compressions are a contender too.

Looking at possibly going with the black rhino diamondbacks, but not sure what color. Black, blue, or bronze. I think any of them would look great.

    https://www.blackrhinowheels.com/black-rhino-hard-alloys-diamondback

Really like the look of the black rhino Rivals too, but again, not sure I want a 17" wheel just due to clearance on the calipers.

    Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated!

Here is my truck. Pretty much going to stay like it is except for a level kit and new shoes!
    Color is blueprint.

Don't do the blue with a blue truck... I love blue but it just doesn't work. Black or bronze are always good

Dustin with FN wheels makes extremely high quality wheels.

here is his page to check out

    https://www.fnwheels.com/

I would highly recommend looking into them. He also likes chatting with customers too and has a page on here.

SCS is a great company too, both are flow form, which is casted but spun while heated. Makes it a lighter wheel, a middle ground between cast and forged.

they both are hubcentric. That is crucial! Most companies are slightly higher tolerances to fit more brands. To avoid vibrations you’ll want hubcentric 100% and avoid super high offsets. The wheel will poke too much too if you’re trying to stay stock.

the Black rhino wheels you posted are not my cup of tee.

I would check out FN or SCS, they are made for our vehicles. You also don’t see them much and make yours more unique.

I vote matte black in color. Hides dirt and brake dust more.

I'm thinking that way too now that you mention it. Would be too much blue going on. Appreciate the suggestion!

Damn good looking wheels. I'll be sure to check out FN stuff.

The ray10 were at the top of my list when I first saw them. Checked em out and saw they are only available in 17" though.
Not opposed to 17", I'd just like to keep extra clearance as ill be running them in the winter and I've had issues before on a different truck where there wasn't much clearance between the caliper and wheel and the snow constantly ripped the weights off.

Yes, plus you support small family business who are die hard Toyota fans.

I think in late summer the Ray10 will be back in stock.

im also a blueprint owner and also looking at getting wheels/tires soonish. I've gone down the bronze rabbit hole. so far as to seek out others to actually see what it looks like. keep in mind this is all personal preference. bronze is a tough one to do. To me it only looks good if a) it is matte and b) is a darker bronze. I saw many examples as i'm trying to figure out what i want and the darker the better looking. bright and shiny didn't really look good to me. I'm still looking and still havent made a decision. fyi the RRW bronze matte is pretty good.

Truck looks great man. Really like the matching bed decals to go with the bronze wheels too.

I agree with you, the darker bronze wheels are a fantastic looking option. That's what really drew me to the Black rhino Rivals too begin with, they are a dark bronze/black.

KMC's are too much of a gamble if you are going to get good wheels or bad. I've known more folks who had KMC and were unhappy then were happy.

I also think the RRW are better looking, either color option too.

Thanks for that info. I heard in the past, many years ago, KMC could be iffy. Figured it had gotten better.

Really torn on the RRW options.
Black would be safe bet and looks good.

Gunmetal would look good too I bet if it's the right shade. Something a little different.
I'd have to wait for them to come up for order around October though, currently not available.

May just snag the black ones right now since they are on sale.

Did you get the protection ring or beadlocks? I have the matte black colored ones and looking to get protection rings but torn between getting the raw billet or black color? When black wheels get scratched or scuffed it will be much more obvious; however, I just removed all exterior chrome and the raw billet kinda brings back that chrome vibe. I don’t know which to pick. Any opinions? One of my black wheels already got scuffed from the curb as I waited too long to get the protection rings. The raw aluminum from the scuff is very noticeable on the black wheel. Please chime in and share your thoughts. Thanks

A taller sidewall and bit wider tire will protect against curb damage. Better ride with more cushion too.

Yeah that would be nice too. Unfortunately my tires didn’t have great side wall protection. And the way how the wheel was designed it does protrude out more than the side wall. So now I’m trying to see which color protection ring I should get to potentially prevent future scuffs. Raw billet or black anodize color?

Either would look good honestly IMO.

If you're dechromed, black may be a better choice.

You could go the other way too and use bullet as an accent piece.

Or, buy whatever is cheaper and have them powdercoated to your choice of color.

    None at this point.
    Yeah.....Not about to recommend colors.
    Everyone is different.
Hell I wanted a different color but my choices were limited even in a city the size of Houston.
Ended up with the oranges red color.
It grew on me..kinda like a Wart.

Here's my thought process on the protection rings:

You're adding these things to the wheel, pushing out the edge even further, almost guaranteeing that the rings WILL take damage eventually. That's their function, right?
If you go with black anodize rings, when they inevitably get scuffed/gouged they will look just like your wheel currently does. Black scuffed off with shiny aluminum showing underneath. Very obvious.
At least if you go with the raw billet, once it's scuffed it won't be quite as noticeable.

Go with the black rhinos in my opinion. I have the same color and will be doing just that. Have had them in the past no issues and absolutely love their styles. 0 off set 18x9 barrage in Matte blacks

The rings on these are just for show; molded in and not replaceable. The bolts in the ring however are replaceable and I've thought about swapping these goldish looking ones for matte black or something more bronze, but I don't feel strongly enough about it.

Another vote for FN. I have had two sets over the past 11 years. Great quality and Dustin is a great guy to speak with.

SCS is great as well. These two companies offer very high quality products vs the larger wheel manufacturers. Buy once cry once…

Any dark gray would look excellent on your blue Tundra OP.

I second the vote for FN wheels. The quality and customer service Dustin offers is awesome. Plus you’re supporting a small company. It’s hard to find people who care about build quality as much these days.
