I have a questions does this look like a good soluiton ? I previously remove a bds 4.5 inch lift from my tundra. I wanted to have a normal ride high and had a new crossmember welded. But I don’t know if it will be good enough any suggestions ?

    2. I guess as long as it holds your frame correctly everything should be fine. I'm not sure on the strength of tubing vs the channel that was there from the factory. Can you give some specs on the tubing used? Diameter and wall thickness specifically. @snivilous is the resident fabricator around here, he would be the best to answer your question.

    Too many mods to come

You can order the oem crossmember I’d have todo some digging to find the PN again but we did this on a buddies tundra that had a bds lift previously. Hard to tell in the pics of junction areas

No. I have (had) a similar setup for an engine swapped 1978 pickup and just used a tube going to plate on the frame and both sides started cracking.

It looks like your setup is nearly identical. You have high stress and a stress riser at the weld, so at a MINIMUM I would gusset the fuck out of it where the tube ties into the frame, and realistically just call it good and inspect it from doing that.

More ideally but a lot of work, I would potentially add another tube alongside the current one and gusset everything. I can check what the stock cross member size is since I have a rolling chassis in the shop right now, but that one little tube is nowhere near the stiffness or strength of the stock crossmember----that doesnt mean it HAS to be stock levels strong, and you put in a lot of work already, which is why I would do additional reinforcement at the end tie ins and see how it holds.

I’m going to get an oem crossmember hope it’s a lot better than this. you guys are right it’s a lot of stress for such a small tube . Hopefully it will be a lot better with the stock part
