I had a coolant drain and fill a couple of weeks ago done at the dealership. And today as I was cleaning the engine bay I noticed the coolant was on the “Low” marking of the container.

Is this normal? Is it because most of the coolant was filled in the radiator and this is just extra?

Should I call them to top it off?

So I’ve read that apparently it’s supposed to be low when it’s cold to give room for it when it gets hot.
Guess I gotta take it for a drive to see

    None....
If the engine is hot it's pretty low. If engine is cold it's a little bit low.

I add enough so it's half way between low and hfull at least. Because if you loose a little bit then you won't see any. Technically dealer is within specs if its cold.

Keep an eye on it after you fill it up (if you add some). A continuously low puke bottle can indicate a coolant leak - :fingerscrossed: your fingers it ain't in the valley.

The level in the overflow should be at the “Full” line when cold. (Okay, technically between “Low” and “Full”, but “Full” is the better reference point).

It’s common for the level to drop after a coolant replacement due to air purging from the system.

Top it up to that level, confirm the radiator is full (engine cold - do not open when hot!).

keep a close eye on on the level in the overflow over the next few drive cycles, topping up as needed. The level should stabilize.

Note: compare level when cold/ambient temperature. Hot/warm levels are not consistent

You can open the bottle when it's hot. You're thinking of the radiator, the bottle isn't under pressure.
