Never found out what the top speed was with the Yamaha.
Had plenty more to go at 150 but I was Chicken to find it's actual Top End.
Bought a steering stabiliser after my attempt at the Top speed.
That high speed wobble at 150 was terrifying!!!

Had death wobble (head shake) once on the GSXR. Going maybe 50mph. Continued in a straight line thankfully, I pushed hard forward on the handle bars as I let the bike slow on its own and it stopped. There was no factory stabilizer option on the 600, also no threaded bung on the frame. Drilling the frame (twin spar spun aluminum) would void the warranty and end up developing stress cracks. The 750 had the provisions already for the stabilizer. As well as the gusseted swing arm.

In my day drilling the frame was your only option.
The other end clamped onto the fork frame.
Have no complaints as to its function.

Wow, yeah, the bikes back then had so much soul and personality. I can't tell them apart today. They all look the same. I'll see if I can find a pick of my old FZ.

Oh wow! That really sucks! They were great engines, 5 valves per cylinder, my 700 made 104 hp at the crank. Yours probably made 115.

Yeah it's crazy how fast bikes are today. 30 years ago they had huge turbos and all kinds of rocket science stuff to get to 200. Not to mention these were very specialized bikes not production bikes. But I'm pretty sure everything was still analog back then and not digital. Not even sure if top fuel dragster had lap tops and programs to monitor the engine. I'm pretty sure they didn't.

Yeah, I'd love to supercharge it but I just do not have that kind of money. I could do a few things, a OTT tune to be most of it. The guys from where I'll take it to said use the stock CAI, TB and exhaust. I'm wanting to run headers and a bigger Throttle Body but they said none of that is necessary.
Anyway, a tune is definitely coming.

150 was the max mine would do with me on it and just enough gas to get to the gas station after a blast. I was doing 120 coming up on a 45mph curve, the 45 mph sign went past me and I started grabbing brakes and down shifting. I went into the corner leaned way over and drifted into the oncoming lane. Thank God there was nobody coming. I was still doing a good 85 mph around that curve. That one was the one that scared me. I pulled over, checked my drawers, I was ok! Jammed it in 1st and gave her everything in the throttle!! Some great times when you're young and think you're bullet proof. Ha ha ha

To be honest I'm not as impressed with the Magnuson in the Tundra as I was with the TRD SCer in my Tacoma.
While it certainly makes a difference it's not as Night and Day like it was in the Tacoma.
I see more mods in my future......
I also miss the standard transmission in the Tacoma.
While the auto is convenient it's not as much fun.

Yeah....was riding down a long straight at around 1:00 AM and misjudged how far I'd gone.
I knew there was a stop sign and that the road T'd I just got there a little faster than I thought.
All of a sudden the stop sign appeared.
There was No Way in Hell I was going to stop in time!
Jumped the ditch and went through a barbed wire fence and ended up a good 50 yards into a field.
Didnt lay it down but it was a real bitch getting it back across that ditch.
It was way easier going in.....

If we dont end up buying a Lake House I see another Crotch Rocket in my near future.
With the Wife being the Banker I figure If I tell her it's either a Lake House or a Crotch Rocket She'll be sure to figure out how to get the LakeHouse in short order.

Oh wow man! Glad you and your bike was ok. I've seen horses that stampeded a barbwire fence once. It was horrible. They all recovered but the ones that made the initial break had HUGE gasses all across their chests. The vet my mom worked for got them all stitched up but seriously, I didn't know a horse could bleed so much and be fine. The bottom of the trailer was covered in blood. The rancher brought the 6 worst ones in. Anyway, glad you're ok from it!

I just realized after going through this thread that my 3rd gen is my first vehicle I have NOT intentionally topped it out just to see what it would do. I think I've had it to 95 once.
I guess I've never been this old before.

Have owned a fair number of high-ish performance cars, hotrods and motorcycles.
    Motos including a couple CBR1000's, VFR750's, a Ninja 750 and one Aprilia.
Still have a Kawi Versys 1000.
    All were top speed tested.

Well, I'm soon to be 56. Still enjoy flying down the road but haven't ridden a motorcycle in over 30 years. I know your first 3 motorcycles well. I've always liked the old school bikes. My last one was a 78 KZ1000. A moded GPz 1100 was the one before that. Fella spent some money having some serious upgrades done to the engine. Cams, pistons, exhaust, lowered. It was the most powerful bike I ever had and it would freaking MOVE!! Anyway, that was a very long time ago. Still have great memories of the era.

Same here, great memories and great bikes.
My personal odometer just clicked over to 59 a month ago but my bikes bikes don't go quite so far back. First bike was a '84 VF500 Interceptor. Great bike to learn on.
I really miss the Aprilia. V-twin sport tourer with luggage but would still approach 160 if you wanted to get stupid. Thing was freight train solid. 130 felt like 75.

Ah yes, the VF500 Interceptor. Rode a buddies 1000 once. Pretty cool. Never really got used to that V-4 engine. But they were great motorcycles.

Was a little shocked when we first started searching for a Lake House.
Ya gotta spend at least $500K to get something worth having.
The Wife was bitching about it until I reminded Her we had that much in our two river properties and that was well over fifteen years ago.
Now that She's gotten over the sticker shock She's okay with it.
Told Her our other option would be to stay where we are.
She wasn't thrilled about that idea.

Wellllllll.....that's not right!! I think once you go with a supercharger then you need to go with everything else you can to get the most hp/tq benefits. I could be completely wrong as I'm just going off of what I think. But a tune along with pullies, headers, aftermarket MAF, aftermarket throttle body, internal engine work etc to really enhance what the super charger brings to the table. But like I said, I could be wrong.

Yeah, this one is very nice but was right in the ballpark of 500K. But that included a boat and dock. Then another 50K for improvements. I've put in what I can do to keep costs down. Handyman sort of stuff. Lights, ceiling fans, outlets, painting, landscaping etc. But new flooring, carpet, refurbishing a large deck and stairs to the house, new dock for the boat etc has all been contracted out. Oh, there's a detached garage as well. It's about 4500 square feet. Maybe 5.

    None at this point.
Yeah....getting a little old to do the extras with being close to 60.
Being retired I could probably do it if the Wife were to cooperate when it comes to spending money.
Might even need a helper to be honest.
