Are the other Toyota distributors this smarmy? I get the sales tactic of adding a bunch of crap to pad profit margins, but damn... selling a feature that's already included from the factory?

    DISTRIBUTOR'S OPTIONS
    XY900 TOYOGUARD Platinum 699.00
    Includes:
2 Oil and Filter Changes at any Toyota Dealer Four Tire Rotations
    Roadside and Rental Car Assistance
Exterior Paint Sealant and Interior Protector

Then there's the $499 floor mats, $129 screen protector and $79 USB cables... but at least you're paying (a lot) for some added value.

Another great reason to buy pre-owned.

I tend to agree with you, but we’ve seen the advantage swing between buying new vs used.

I’m not in the market to buy, just doing some market research on EVs. I’ve bought a few vehicles from SET dealers, so I know the drill. I don’t recall seeing a upsell on the already included ToyotaCare. I’m willing to bet the selling dealer has a closing/admin fee of $600-900 as well. Just curious what other distribution networks do to rake customers over the coals.
