Never found out what the top speed was with the Yamaha.
Had plenty more to go at 150 but I was Chicken to find it's actual Top End.
Bought a steering stabiliser after my attempt at the Top speed.
That high speed wobble at 150 was terrifying!!!

Had death wobble (head shake) once on the GSXR. Going maybe 50mph. Continued in a straight line thankfully, I pushed hard forward on the handle bars as I let the bike slow on its own and it stopped. There was no factory stabilizer option on the 600, also no threaded bung on the frame. Drilling the frame (twin spar spun aluminum) would void the warranty and end up developing stress cracks. The 750 had the provisions already for the stabilizer. As well as the gusseted swing arm.

In my day drilling the frame was your only option.
The other end clamped onto the fork frame.
Have no complaints as to its function.

Wow, yeah, the bikes back then had so much soul and personality. I can't tell them apart today. They all look the same. I'll see if I can find a pick of my old FZ.

Oh wow! That really sucks! They were great engines, 5 valves per cylinder, my 700 made 104 hp at the crank. Yours probably made 115.

Yeah, death wobble is absolutely no fun. I had it a few times.

Yeah it's crazy how fast bikes are today. 30 years ago they had huge turbos and all kinds of rocket science stuff to get to 200. Not to mention these were very specialized bikes not production bikes. But I'm pretty sure everything was still analog back then and not digital. Not even sure if top fuel dragster had lap tops and programs to monitor the engine. I'm pretty sure they didn't.

Yeah, I'd love to supercharge it but I just do not have that kind of money. I could do a few things, a OTT tune to be most of it. The guys from where I'll take it to said use the stock CAI, TB and exhaust. I'm wanting to run headers and a bigger Throttle Body but they said none of that is necessary.
Anyway, a tune is definitely coming.

150 was the max mine would do with me on it and just enough gas to get to the gas station after a blast. I was doing 120 coming up on a 45mph curve, the 45 mph sign went past me and I started grabbing brakes and down shifting. I went into the corner leaned way over and drifted into the oncoming lane. Thank God there was nobody coming. I was still doing a good 85 mph around that curve. That one was the one that scared me. I pulled over, checked my drawers, I was ok! Jammed it in 1st and gave her everything in the throttle!! Some great times when you're young and think you're bullet proof. Ha ha ha

To be honest I'm not as impressed with the Magnuson in the Tundra as I was with the TRD SCer in my Tacoma.
While it certainly makes a difference it's not as Night and Day like it was in the Tacoma.
I see more mods in my future......
I also miss the standard transmission in the Tacoma.
While the auto is convenient it's not as much fun.

Yeah....was riding down a long straight at around 1:00 AM and misjudged how far I'd gone.
I knew there was a stop sign and that the road T'd I just got there a little faster than I thought.
All of a sudden the stop sign appeared.
There was No Way in Hell I was going to stop in time!
Jumped the ditch and went through a barbed wire fence and ended up a good 50 yards into a field.
Didnt lay it down but it was a real bitch getting it back across that ditch.
It was way easier going in.....
