    Meet Scout — My 2002 Tundra SR5 4WD Adventure Build ️

    Howdy everyone,

I'm Taha — also known as The Brown Cowboy — and I recently picked up a 2002 Tundra SR5 4WD Access Cab TRD here in Utah.
I named him Scout. Got it for $3,300 after negotiating down due to a long list of needed repairs. It’s my in-between rig while I figure out what to do with my ’94 Land Cruiser, which unfortunately caught fire after sitting at a shop for two years .

Here’s what’s been done so far on the mechanical front:
    • Knock sensor and harness replacement
    • Starter replacement
    • Timing belt + water pump
    • Crankshaft and camshaft seals
    • Drive/serpentine belt
    • Tensioner and idler pulleys
    • Valve cover gaskets + spark plug tube seals
    • Oil + coolant service

Now prepping for front-end, suspension, and axle refresh:
    • Bilstein 6112 Front + 5160 Rear Reservoir Shocks
    • SPC Adjustable Upper Control Arms
    • OEM LCAs + LBJs
    • OEM CV axles on the way
    • Rear axle seals and full diff service coming up

    A bit of background:
I hadn’t wrenched on vehicles until recently — it started when I got quoted $6K–$10K to replace camshafts and rocker arms on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. That bill pushed me to dive in and learn. My dad used to run a Suzuki shop back in Lahore, Pakistan, and while I never really picked up the wrench back then, I’m reconnecting with that legacy now.

I’ve recently started documenting the journey on my YouTube channel — it’s a mix of learning, wrenching, camping, and getting this rig ready for adventure. Would love for folks here to check it out, share advice, or correct anything I mess up (please do ).

Current questions I’m hoping to get input on:

Looking forward to learning from and connecting with this awesome community.

Some Pics & Videos attached. Got a video of me introducing the truck to my Step Dad as our new project.
