Came home for lunch and rode my E-bike back to the office.

Got home and saw a plastic trim piece on the ground.

    "Hmmm, that's odd"

Turns out it was the front cap of my mirror, which was folded forward with the glass hanging by wires.

Glass is intact, broke some plastic tabs inside, and broke where the adjuster connects.

Can you just get the internal parts or do I need to replace the whole thing?

There's a number 47744 47775 on the piece that broke but nothing came up when I Googled it

Damn, that sucks! Sorry to hear that happened. I've never changed out my mirrors so don't know the internals but I always see them on OfferUp or Marketplace..

    Here's a set in Moval..
Check out this item on OfferUp.

You need an entire new mirror...not worth fixing. Used is the way!

    That's f'ed up.
I think you need a total replacement.

Make sure whatever you buy has whatever you have: BSM, turn signal, etc..
I think they all have heaters.

    Boo-Boo all better.

Installed the new replacement from 1A Auto last night.

Quality looks to be very good, especially considering it was just over 1/3 the price of OEM... $125 vs. $349 from Toyota.

Other than the new one being shiny and well, New... with the original passenger side having 6+ years of weathering I can't tell any difference.

The install video from 1A Auto tells you to remove the whole door panel, disconnecting window switches, actuator cables for door locks, etc. which is probably the "proper" way to do it, but I was able to do it without taking off the whole panel.
Just removed the small sail panel, the screw by the inside door handle, and popped the door panel partway loose... a couple of clips each on top and front edges.

Pulling the panel back gave me just enough room to get a deep socket on the nuts to remove. This did make me a little nervous about dropping the nuts inside the nether regions of the door when they came loose as they're still kinda' inside the door when they come off the threads, so I had the Wile E. Coyote - Super Genius idea to put a rare earth magnet on my 10mm deep socket which magnetized it enough that it'd hold the nut just in case.

And BONUS!! When I press the little button, the mirror moves!! I kept forgetting to check the BSM light on my way to work this morning.

I've always hated popping off door panels, trim pieces, etc. 'cuz I used to always break at least a clip or two, but all in all this was pretty smooth and painless.

1A Auto looks like good stuff. I briefly thought about taking this as an excuse to switch to the tow mirrors since I could get the set of those for about what an OEM driver's mirror would've cost me, but I decided I didn't want them sticking out any wider than they already do. As it is I only have about 2" clearance on each side when I go through my banks drive-thru ATM.

Had that happen on my 2019, stood on the proch and watched a douche in an F-350 go right by and take it off. He slowed down, then sped away and I couldn't find him in traffic.

Ooof... Might be good I couldn't find whoever did mine.

I'm guessing this was mirror on mirror violence... Hopefully his replacement cost a lot more than mine.

Thank you. Yep, I have a T-Shirt that says "Dogs... Because people suck."

I just look at it that I got lucky. A little closer and it would've been the whole side of my truck.
