2025 tundra limited - lunar rock
Stock so far- wheels and tires up first
    Hey Everyone!

just got my first tundra so here’s my first post.

I need an opinion from the group. The truck I bought is a limited lunar rock with the red package. For one reason or another, it came with the 1794 tailgate.

not mad and not complaining, in fact, I really like the look. It’s only the fact that it’s not actually a 1794 that bothers me, and even then only to a point.

the dealership immediately offered to fix it. The only problem is that based on talking to them, it could take a couple of weeks to a month for them to switch it out and they would be keeping my truck at their body shop while the new tailgate is painted, cures, is clear coated and has the handle and badging installed. Not ideal. They offered to put me in a Tacoma which is what I traded in.

here’s the question, if it were your truck would you change it? Or if you were looking at buying a used truck, is that something that would deter you even if the seller had the documentation showing it was delivered that way?

otherwise, I love the tundra and I’m sure I’ll stay in this platform for years to come.

Uggghh. I’d probably keep it. I think I’d worry more about them screwing something up or the paint not matching perfectly.

I,would have it fixed. My question (rhetorical) is how did it even happen in the first place?

I would get it replaced. There is no excuse for a truck this expensive to have such a stupid manufacturing mix up. You paid a lot of money for this puppy, it better be everything you wanted it to be!
