Sorry for all the new threads in advance.

my truck had the cats stolen from it before I purchased it. I’ve been looking at MagnaFlow Cats. They have two options of cats. One option has the 02 Sensor to be plugged in the side of the cat. The other options doesn’t show me where it plugs in.

my truck is an 05 DC. How do I determine which cat will work for my truck? I’m sure it doesn’t matter a ton, but when I order two new 02 sensors I need to make sure I get ones with enough wire to reach.

I have the 02 sensors on the exhaust right after the header on both sides. Who ever stole the cats cut the sensor wire near the cats. I’ll need to buy two new cats and I believe they are called downstream sensors. This is a farm truck, and doesn’t have to pass emissions. I want to replace them so the truck runs right, and gets rid of the check engine light.

    thanks,

Wow. The CARB compliant ones go for $1250 each. I thought people were buying those to prevent the check engine light from going off after a year or two?

I would think you’d want the sensors to remain where they are and not be connecting to the CAT itself.

The rear O2s don’t control anything, they only report back to the ecu how well the cat is cleaning the exhaust. Cheapest option is a piece of electrical tape over the cel on the dash…….

maybe @M14 EBR can help with the proper cat in this situation

My cats are well fed, they get fresh water and they use a littler box.

I thought about this. Only issue is if the truck throws another code for something else, I won’t know unless I always scan the truck to see if anything new came up.

I totally understand that too, I know @shifty` has mentioned that before.
I run a scan gauge, so it’s easier to clear the code; and I’ve gotten pretty good at knowing exactly when the code will pop up.
