I have a 2016 Tundra Platinum that i purchased a while back and came with what i believe is a Rough Country 6" lift on it. After doing some reading here, I'd assumed that the crossmember had been cut and thus removing it and switching to something like an ICON would be a big hassle. ...but after spending a little time under the truck, I'm not seeing where the crossmember was cut in order to drop the diff.

Am I missing something or was this lift installed without cutting the crossmember? and does that mean that removing it wouldn't require any re-welding of the frame.

    Thanks.

It's not cut. I thought the RC 4.5 lift or pro comp 4 inch was done without cutting the crossmember. Are the cv axles aftermarket as they appear different.

Appreciate the response and I guess good to hear. Not sure if the CVs are aftermarket, I'd kind of doubt it - though one of the boots had a tear in it and i had to replace a while back. Thanks again.

I looked on RC website to see if there was an option for a RCX. (RCX is on the crossmember support.) I didn’t see any. Only different options for shocks. Maybe RC came out with a new lift where you don’t need to cut the crossmember and didn’t upgrade their website yet. Because I thought you had to do that for clearance with the drive shaft. I would call them up to find out. Then let us know.

Those are Napa Auto Parts CV’s. They’re the only ones with the bump down in size mid shaft like that. They advertise a higher angle before bind that OEM, if I remember correctly. They work fine for 99% of use from what I’ve seen, but OEM is still stronger in the 1% hard Offroad times when you need it. So unless you wheel your truck pretty hard, I’d say you’re fine with what you’ve got.

The RCX had me curious. So I sent Rac an email asking about it. This was their response. IMG_8570.png
