Oem bed step vs aftermarket

Anyone tried out the yota expedition bedstep versus OEM and Amazon options?

 

I have the Amazon one that is going for $89 right now. I put it on in February and it has been great. I use it a lot more than I expected. I have not seen the OEM one in person. There aren't enough parts to it that they could be all that different. Cheaper plastics could crack, but they are all pretty big, solid parts with big bolts.

I'm thinking of this as well. The Yota one looks pretty bomber.

 

Fair point. I guess for the most part I am just looking for the quality of the finish. Live in the rust belt so just trying to see if one will hold up better longer than the other.
But then again, for the price of the Amazon one I can replace it about 3 times to equal the cost of OEM.

 

Mostly plastic. There are some pins at the joints that look metal. I'm near the beach, so things rust a little and I don't see any signs yet. The traction pad also seems to be the right amount of durable and good traction.

 

Found a take off on sleaze-bay haven’t looked back yet. Great option that gets used a lot. I weighed a bit more when I installed it and was worried about aftermarket holding up to the excess weight. No issues then nor now.
