Looking to swap the fluids out. I am a former seadoo tech and have always been a big fan of OEM parts. That being said its time to change out the fluids on my front and rear diff on the 2014 tundra. I see 75wt being the gear oil spec.... 75/85 and also 75/140?

Do these come with LSD additive?

anyone have the part numbers and capacities?

    Thx!

No need for "LSD additive" since the 2.5 gen Tundras don't have a traditional limited slip differential.

While it’s expensive, i recently had both diff and trsfr case done with toyota oem oil and noticed a 2mpg uptick. I also had air filter replaced, trans drain & fill, and added one bottle of lucas fuel system cleaner for a fair evaluation of everything done.

The dealers I spoke with about changing the front, rear and differential and transfer case they all said they use 75-90 unless it a warranty repair. I changed all of mine with 75-90 synthetic. I have had no problems going into or out of 4 wheel drive.

If it must be OE, then 08885-02506, which is 75W-85 Differential Gear Oil LT.

The LT gear oil is a little more reasonably priced at $33 per liter at my local dealer, as opposed to the LX gear oil which is much higher. It is used for limited slip differentials.

If your 2014 is 4x4, be prepared for sticker shock when you ask about the Toyota Genuine Transfer Gear Oil LF at the dealer.

75w90 from Walmart in front and rear. Only one you need OEM for is the 75w transfer case.

Did you supply them with the oil? Every dealer i have seen just uses bulk 75w90.

You might check out this link for a complete diff/transfer case fluid replacement using Ravenol. Much cheaper than OEM (especially the TC oil) and meets Toy specs. While I haven't done this yet (I'm barely at 30K) I will use Ravenol when the time comes. I'm just not looking forward to having to remove my cat plates to do it.

Any of those should be fine. Just make sure you get the right one for the transfer case. Not sure if Amsoil offers a compatible fluid for that.

Y'all are making this too complicated. For a 2014+ Tundra:

These trucks have plain old differentials in them, so anything is fine. You could go heavier if you tow a lot or whatever.
    Front Diff: Any Flavor/brand GL5 in 75W85 or 75W90
    Rear Diff: Any Flavor/brand GL5 in 75W85 or 75W90

Transfer case is a special fluid so selection is limited. Personally I stick with the Toyota stuff here.

Yeah if you live in a warm climate, probably going to be okay but the 75w is much thinner than 75w90. Forums members have reported poor shifts in and out of 4wd when they used 75w90. Also the Toyota brand engagement probably is not super educated on the matter, BorgWarner is the one who came up with the spec for their transfer case from what I understand, I believe a forum member contacted them as well.

I have no problem with going in and out of 4WD,I used synthetic 75-90 in transfer and differentials.

Dang! You guys are on point! Its greatly appreciated. I will pick k up Amsoil/Liqui Molly or Ravenol ASAP. I have 120k miles without changing diff/transfer fluids. That includes towing a 30ft Toyhauler across country.

Amsoil Severe Gear 75w-90 is $33 / quart. Order 6 of those and you're good. I have a case in the garage about to do my 60k oci.

What OCI, brands, and weight I've been using:
    Oil & Filter: 5k miles or 6mo. -- Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w-30
Transmission Fluid (drain/fill): 30k or 6yrs. -- OE Toyota Brand.
Coolant: 50k miles or 5yrs. -- OE Toyota Brand.
F/R Differential: 30k (OE or aftermarket). -- 75w-90 Amsoil Severe Gear
Transfer Case: 30k (OE or aftermarket) -- 75w Ravenoil
Power Steering Fluid (OE or aftermarket Fluid) -- OE Toyota Brand.
Brake Fluid DOT 3, inspect at 3 years (aftermarket)
    Sparks Plugs: 120k (OE)

That's good to know. I know most dealers just pump 75w90 in the transfer case as well. I did a bunch of research on the forum before I changed mine and since it's a seldomly changed fluid, I do mine every 30,000, I figured I'd stick with the 75w from Toyota. Shifts smooth as butter in and out and want to keep it that way, especially in the winter when I need it most.

Ravenol 75w is a good substitute for OEM.

Yes many here use that as well. I go down rabbit holes and found a VOA of the Toyota vs the Ravenol and they are very different fluids, not that that means one works better than the other but it's seems so far no one really matches the VOA of the Toyota stuff.

Ah, makes sense and perhaps some truth behind it. Those type of rabbit holes can be a good time. I've seen no known issues on and a lot of others use it here, as you said, and no issues reported out that I've seen. I got most of my advice from CCN youtube and jotted down his recommendations, seemed reasonable enough to follow. Only items he recommended to remain Toyota OE brand; Transmission Fluid, Coolant, Power Steering Fluid. Been sticking to that.

    Hate I missed that video.

Used Prestone Platinum Asian coolant & Valvoline MaxLife for power steering fluid.

I did however use Toyota WS for the tranny.

    Too late now…
