Yes, the reset is on the little center cluster window, but there are maintenance messages on the head unit. You can also adjust various settings such as door lock settings, headlight settings (auto on sensitivity, auto off timer, DRLs on/off), interior light settings auto/off. Not much but would like to know if I can still get to those.

Check the build link in my signature.
    yes and no...
it WILL cause your instrument cluster page for navigation to be blank. And, depending on your replacement HU, it may not show as much information in the page for music.
As for all of the random maintenance things that you can enter (and set reminders) in the factory HU - those are part of the HU and are not maintained by this android HU (or by any Maestro-compatible units either).
The basic door lock and light settings should be maintained though.

Gotcha, still not sure about the maintenance, but YES to all of the above I quoted, there is a screen that addresses them. I'll send you a screenshot later today.

No problem. Full disclosure, I’m a nerd and not skeered of tinkering with tech settings, and as others have mentioned, you have to hunt some for all the various options. If you’re looking for something highly intuitive, this might not be your jam. It helps to be familiar with the Android interface.

No worries there. Very familiar with Android as it's been my daily driver for years in its many iterations. I appreciate the advice.

Does this unit also perform the temperature control as well? Looks as though the HU covers the stock temp and fan knobs. Thanks!!

It does perform all of the controls below the factory HU. The factory HVAC piece comes out.

I think @Hazman23 might be asking if the Phoenix HU managers dual zone climate control vs the standard temp and fan speed knobs depending on which option came with a particular Tundra trim.

I don't have the dual zone climate. This looks like a pretty slick set up!!!

@Cthulhu, do you prefer to use the radio with car play/android auto connected to your phone or the radio as a standalone device?

Yes, climate control is handled by the HU, regardless of trim level. So if you have dual climate zones, you’ll have dual climate zones on this HU. Some don’t like the fact that you remove the factory HVAC knobs; perfectly fine for me.

Ok, just a couple more questions, and I think I'm covered. Did you add a SIM, and is there any loss in audio quality going from stock to this HU?

    No SIM.

Regarding audio quality, plenty of adjustment options, including an equalizer, and, this HU allows you to adjust the gain to the factory JBL amp, which is is awesome since the factory HU has no gain control, and weak max volume from the factory JBL amp. It makes the factory JBL amp come alive with more volume, and even though the factory speakers aren’t high quality, they sound better with more volume. You just don’t want to add too much gain as it will introduce distortion which can damage the speakers. I imagine the ability to adjust the gain would be beneficial with the factory non-JBL amp as well.

I've got the non-JBL so hopefully there is improvement there as well like you indicated with the JBL. Thanks again for all the info. Greatly appreciated.

Wish these large after markets had Sirius XM capabilities other than using the app you need to sync up.
Its nice to hop in the truck and go and Sirius is already on. I rarely if ever use AM/ FM now.

@Cthulhu, is the only way to connect to the Phoenix radio thru wireless carplay/android auto or does the wired USB port still work and allow for a wired carplay/android auto connection? If the wired option doesn't work then what happens to the USB port that was previously used to connect to the OEM head unit for carplay/android auto?

Not sure. It isn’t clear in the description on their website. I’ve always used wireless. You should call them and verify.

I found this, maybe it will help:

Hey @Cthulhu or others with experience, I'm in the process of installing the Phoenix head unit. Did you have any cables or plugs from the stock wire harness that didn't find a home in the Phoenix head unit? Besides the satellite radio cable, I have 3 cables/plugs with no home.

unfortunately for me i cracked the screen while attempting to clean off smudges and finger prints.

How is the sound quality with the phone?

I don’t recall any leftover OEM harnesses; maybe it’s because you have a non-JBL HU? My HU was JBL.

Thanks for the reply. Everything seems to work on the head unit except for the Car Settings (stuff like auto lock when shifting out of park, beeps when you unlock the vehicle, etc.). Had one tech session yesterday where tech said I'm not supposed to be able to control that, but I didn't think that's accurate. Your pictures show you can control those things.

Since this is the first thread showing up on my search with recent traffic, I'll add this here:

Latest 13" version with Android 13 still does not have wireless Android Auto and still does not support Sirius XM hardware. This is as of a few minutes ago direct from Phoenix Automotive.

They did provide this link to request features, which I have submitted for the two features mentioned above. I'm hopeful a few other requests will help nudge them along.
