I purchased a Tundra crew cab new in 2023. So far I love everything except the tow mirrors. I am finding they block my line of sight and since I never tow, I am thinking of swapping them out. Has anyone else had this issue, and do you know if I can simply purchase the lower style mirrors and install them. Some people had told me I need to also change the wiring harness, not sur if that is true.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Don't believe you can direct swap these. Difference in wiring harnesses. Several threads on here about this.

I just got rid of my ‘22 with towing mirrors. They were one of the things that I really disliked. They created huge blind spots and I never used them like I thought I would.

Agree 100% i would frequently miss people and almost pull out in front of them. They need to be hung lower on the door so they don't obstruct line of sight to the sides. I eventually got used to craning my neck around every time i pulled into traffic.

This is good to know. I’ve been casually looking and the one option that was at the top of the list was…

    tow mirrors

Anybody have some photos facing outside taken from the driver perspective?

That's how I feel on my OBS flatbed. Hoping that a pickup bed on the Tundra will allow better view with a narrow trailer, my flat bed is 8' on the width. I have some fisheye added stickons that help some, but one needs to get used to them. My wife's CR-V has them, so I'm kind of used to using them.

Snapped these today. I personally almost never have an issue with them creating a blind spot and all the additional visibility definitely outweighs any slight hindrance.

I have tow mirrors on mine now. But I believe OP was referring to the new gen mirrors.

See! I thought you did but was confused why you were asking for pics. I can't keep folks straight on here and it was just easier to grab some pics and post.

YEah...3rd Gen Tow mirrors are like driving with a sheet of plywood in your window. The visibility isn't good. I barely avoided several mishaps due to the learning curve associated with them.

    Lots of stuff!
I had standard mirrors on my 22 Tundra and they worked fine to see around our 7'-4" wide Airstream (it is the last of the narrow bodies).

With tow mirrors on the new truck, they are great to see much more but our main use for the truck is to tow. If I was using the truck for everything else, I would probably want the standard mirrors.
