How long does it usually take for dealers to ship something out?
Been waiting a week and order still on hold.

Depends on the dealer and the availability. When in question, contact the parts department.

I seem to recall @FirstGenVol had a sizeable wait on some brake parts a while back, and it was mostly because the dealer was able to source only one of the two parts. They tried to get the 2nd, but couldn't, and eventually refunded and shipped one (IIRC).

I waited 2 months for a skid plate. Had to call back twice to remind them.

In the delership service dept today while walking over to the discount parts shelf, i looked at their ‘gift shop’ and there wasnt anything you cant buy off Amazon for 1/4 price.
Had to show the salesman the palm from across the parking lot.

I hope it doesn't take that long.
I just ordered LBJ's and bolts.
I called them Saturday. Said they were backed up and be sent today. They still haven't.

About to order the stripped steering rack stud (finally got it out), and hope they get it sent quick. May just get a regular bolt, or something that will work to get truck back on the road while I wait.

Toyota doesnt sell things like that to us. They’re selling things to dudes with tiny engines that need enhancements. And do a piss poor job at it anyway.

I've heard of LCA skid plates, but never LCA frame braces. Saw this on the FB group

That’s for when your LBJs breaks apart and your LCA gets dragged on the ground.

You don’t want to bend the frame in those areas, do you? :burp:

No. we have 9 roof mounted AC units. The shop can stay in the 60s when it's 100 outside if the doors didn't have to open

So is boredom. Yesterday was the slowest Monday I've seen in a long time. Traffic was light coming home so I'm sure the majority have the week off. I know that the church is struggling to find servers for communion this coming Sunday just because of the amount of folks who will not be in town.

Our shop upgraded to AC a few years ago and it was a game changer. Before that we did use the swamp coolers. When I first started here it was one of my jobs to take the filters off a pressure wash them all. It's amazing at the amount of bondo dust that gets sucked up there.

Your workplace made you use swamp coolers? :eek2:

That doesn’t exactly sound like a top notch shop to say the least.

It was a corporate decision. They kept getting quotes for the A/C install and it cost about 100k or so to do. After a few years they finally approved the installation after other shops did theirs.

Haha! I've never filled mine up that much. Maybe only about half that. It is nice having an open bed though so you don't have to crouch in there and stack it all neatly.

Ironically, the biggest dents on my truck are from me throwing firewood in the bed from the side and missing. Idiot. Learned my lesson there.

Don't they have those door fans that blast air downward in a wall when bay doors are open, which helps cut down on hot air intrusion, and also keep bugs out? I've never actually looked into how (or if) those actually work, but ... I seem to recall them being a thing down here in the south, serving both purposes.

I don't think about AC much up here in the forsaken snow country, but it seems like those would put a lot of moisture in the air where (auto shop) it wouldn't necessarily be good.

Nope. It was never in the original design and adding them to 10 doors would be costly. Only 2 of the 11 doors are high speed on a timer. The others are electric with manual openers. The high speed doors have the shortest set timers available of 15 seconds.

Build is going well - Amazon roof racks and kayak racks fit nicely on the integrated rails on the ARE topper. Just had to get some T bolts to hold the roof rack mounts in.
