I have a 2025 Platinum with 500miles. It has the standard leather wrapped massaging seats. Any one else find the driver seat extremely uncomfortable? After every drive, it is a literal pain in the ass and feel like I have been sitting on a board. I have tried every seat adjustment possible. I did not know if the internal mechanics of the massaging seats created a harder surface. I like everything else about the truck just struggling with the seat comfort.

Everyone's butt is built differently, I guess.

I find the Gen 3 seats very comfortable. The seat extender is especially nice on long roadtrips for my long legs. I find I can drive my Gen 3 for much longer periods without getting leg and hip cramps, like I used to get with my previous Gen 2 and 2.5.

My 1794 doesn't have the massaging seats, though, so I don't know if that makes a difference.

My '24 Platinum's seat is very comfortable. If its that bad you might to have the dealer take a look at it.

When i first purchased my 2024 platinum i also found them extremely uncomfortable and narrow. I'm not a big guy, 6"- 190LB - fit.
After a couple of months i got used to it. The leg extension helps. Then when after 10.5 month toyota took it back i went to my 4runner with 245,000 miles of my but riding it and it felt like home. Now, last week i got 2025 platinum with massage seats. They feel the same as 2024 without massage. It felt uncomfortable for the first 100 miles. Now it is 300 miles on the odometer and feels OK again.
So, either your but will adjust to it or the seat will adjust to your but. Use massage option when you get tired. Helps a lot. on my first 100 miles run from the dealership, i turned it on twice for about 5 minutes each. Really good, love it

Do they make the seat softer?

The tundra is not the most comfy or the worst. I think it depends on the driver though.

My 2020 seats suck ass (pun intended). Got a quote of $650 from a local car interior guy, haven't pulled the trigger yet. I am looking for more butt side support.

It's true. I traded in my 23 Platinum for a 25' Platinum. Unlike my 23 which was a plush seat, this one is like sitting on a board. It must be the support frame used to house the massagers in the seat cushion that you are now sitting on. Bummer

My life experience with the seats on various cars and i drove quite a few in my life while you in Europe being a fleet manager for a big food company.
The most comfortable ones are French cars' seats, Citroen is the best. In America the best i had was 1990th Grand Caravan very comfortable leather seats, then Honda Odyssey high trim model of early 2000, leather seats were not bad. Then i moved to Toyota world and never had any comfortable seat. Everyone, including Lexus i had to get used to.

So, when buying Toyota, forget about comfort seats. BTW, i checked all Big 4 1/2 trucks, all high trim, non of them was really comfortable. Some better, some worst.

I found the seat to be a little uncomfortable at first, mainly on my left side. It was like the bolster made it too narrow or something. At this point (16k miles) that's gone and I find the seat VERY comfortable- much better than the 4 runner it replaced

Been lurking here for some time. Finally purchased a new Platinum Hyb last week. Had to sign up and post when I found this thread. I have the exact same issue. I’m only a few hundred miles into ownership. Left side upper leg / butt area, serious discomfort. I’ve been trying different seating positions, trying to shift myself around in the seat. No luck yet. Sucks because I’m in love with it otherwise. Coming from a ‘16 Taco Sport with 140k, cloth seats that were never uncomfortable. Hopefully there is a remedy to this eventually, or my body just adjusts. :notsure:

Try to play with leg extension, it helps. Also it will adjust to your shape. My first 2024 platinum became comfortable after a couple of 1000 miles. The new one 2025 now is about 1000 miles and getting better. Also, don't forget to use massage option. It is great on long runs. I turn it on on lower body or Lambar for 5 minutes it helps.

I have the same problem with my 2025 Platinum with seat discomfort and back pain. Only 400 miles. I hope it just takes time to break in the seat.

The worst seats released by Toyota in any vehicle, ever. And that's saying something.

My T3 Tundra was extremely comfy for me. Best seats I've ever had. The 2007 was certainly fine, and really the only complaint was that they weren't as good as the T3. Now the 2023 seats are mostly fine for me. I think my biggest complaint about the seating isn't the seat, but the amount of space I have for my knee and foot when using cruise control. I cannot set my foot down comfortably. Back in my bachelor days I'd drive my 2007 for 8-10 hours only stopping for gas. I don't think I could do that in my 2023, even if I was still young.

Seats are not great compared to others out there. Massaging option seems to make them worse as well. I'd look into some cushions or something along those lines.

Super plush (for a truck, and most cars) IMHO. Almost 8k miles into my 25' 1794 and my ass and back have nothing but rave reviews for Toyota's go at the 3rd gen seat. I got a few 4+ drives on it and have no complaints. Vent, heat, and massage are just icing.

ya this is so subjective , some say they suck, others they are great

one thing is for sure, they are better than the GM seats, my god. @DrZoidberg

I've made 3 cross-country trips in my Gen 3, each were over 4000 miles round trip. I've done 30 straight hours behind the wheel, with only fuel stops, and a LOT of caffeine.

Besides the flimsy side seat panels, I like the seats. The key for me is setting the seat memory when I find the sweet spot. That way when my wife drives and messes up all my settings, they are just a button push away.

No, but (speaking for the 2.5 Gen) they change the angle of the seat. Sounds like a small change, but I can't overstate HOW much more comfortable they made the seats. Instead of sitting on the seat, now I feel more like I'm sitting *IN* the seat.

I think the seat jackers change the seat angle for models like the SR5 and SR that dont have adjustable seats, Im not sure they would be useful on Limited and above where they have lots of adjusment, but I may be wrong.

Love my 3rd gen seats. Compared to my Cummins, 4 runners and 2nd and 3rd gen tacos they are the best I’ve had so far. My 18 pro taco seats were nice, the tundra has way more adjustments for everything.

I preferred my 3rd gen Tacoma seats over my Tundras seats. I make a lot of trips to the east side of the state for elk/deer bow hunting (6hrs one way) and never had an issue with my Tacomas.

Last season I made 3-4 trips back and forth in a month period and I had to use cruise control as much as possible at times so that I could sit at awkward angles to give my body a rest. My normal everyday position was not good for long trips.

I have a platinum so I probably just need to figure out a better position to get it sorted out. Short trips it feels just fine though.
