I get that, but I also think it has to do with your use of the boat and how active you are with it.

If you don't get to use it much I can see the novelty wearing off.

In regards to being on a lake so you don't have to trailer, we don't mind towing and prefer it actually. We live near Lake St Clair (within minutes of 6 public launches), tiny in comparison to the Great Lakes it's attached to but a big lake none the less. If we want to fish or hang out in a certain part of the lake we go to the nearest launch. We've ran across the lake before and typically the morning is smooth unless its windy, but by late morning when the cruisers are out its a rough ride, so long runs aren't the most pleasant and launching close to where we want to be is nice.

I think it just comes down to use.

    I remember those days....
Used to go to Canyon Lake a lot.
    Great Party Lake!!!
And you had Hippie Hollow where everyone went skinny dipping and sun bathed on the rocks nekkid.
Unfortunately it got taken over by the homos.
About the only thing you saw there was a bunch of swinging dick after that.
And some questionable behavior by those swinging dicks!!!
Definitely not a place to motor by with kids in the boat,or without kids for that matter.
The name got changed to Homo Hollow after that.

I used my Boat mainly for Bass Fishing.
Had a Fish and Ski but it was mainly Fish over Ski.
It was the only way to get the Wife out on the water.
She wanted comfort and I wanted Fishing.
Turned out I did a lot more fishing than skiing.
I'll say it was a better Ski Boat than Fishing Boat.
Having a windshield kinda sucked for chunking lures.

Funny! That is what we have as well, Ranger 212LS
My wife gets motion sick but if she is doing something, like fishing, she is ok. There are times that isn't the case, usually when the lake is rough. We looked at several multi-use boats, had people not even listen to me at shows and just recommend a multi-species boat since we were more fishing oriented. Ended up going with my gut and bought a Fish & Ski, the place we ordered through had never seen one I guess and really liked it, they planned to order one to have in the show room after seeing ours come in.
We definitely fish more than "ski" but wanted a deeper boat for protection on the bigger lakes but not something as deep as a walleye boat.
Overall we are very happy with the decision.
The windshield takes some getting used to when casting but during those colder months when we are out that windshield is so nice to help keep warm when running, also has saved us from a face full of water a few times those bigger waves have broke high and splashed over.

Never puked from motion sickness but going offshore I came close!!
As long as the boats moving i'm fine, but once you stopped it would get to me.
When i'm catching fish I'm fine as well.
Just gotta keep my eyes on the horizon and it goes away.
And the pills help as well.
It's weird,in my younger days it didnt bother me.
But as I got older it got worse.
Did a lot of trolling because of it.

That's why we will never go on a cruise or off-shore fishing unfortunately.
We went whale watching once and she was fine on the ride out, and she was ok with the maneuvering since it was a calm day, until the exhaust smell hit her and she instantly felt it.
Same thing happens when we're out fishing, if I'm scanning and the wind is blowing from behind she has to stand up to get away of the exhaust smell.
The pills help her some and we always have them on the boat in case.

Yeah...some people are more susceptible to motion sickness no doubt!!
The last time we were in Negril the Wife and I took out some Kayaks and just paddled along the shoreline from Seven Mile Beach to the Cliffs and Ricks and the Wife got seasick.
She didnt puke just felt nauseous.
And we're both very familiar with Kayaking having our own kayaks.

That's one cost I do not mind paying. The ramps can become such a shit show on the weekends.

The lake we go to has 2 state owned ramps, and the one with all the trailer parking and thats deep enough to launch big boats gets taken over by kayakers all the time. It's annoying as hell.

The small ramp has a ton of car parking, but its too shallow to launch anything bigger than a bass boat.

Our boat stays in the water now. It's so much easier and less stressful. Worth the money.

1000% concur with this. We just walk on the boat now with our stuff. No launch, no parking, no trailers, no redneck fights.

    What’s wrong with stock?
Sold mine recently. Here in Miami you have to start lining up at the ramp at 4:00 am. Then they are full by 7:00am. Only to wait an hour plus to pull it out of the water when you’re done. Not fun. Way to many people and only a few public ramps.IMG_7672.jpg
