Hi, I have a 2016 Toyota Tundra SR5 4wd. My VSC light stays on all the time. No other lights. I am not able to shift to 4wd at all. I have tried different methods of resetting it such as pressing the button for 3-5 seconds, then pressing it once, no change. I have disconnected the battery for an hour, still no change. It only has around 55,000 miles on it. Is there something else I should be trying before a purchase a diagnostic tool to see what codes it shows? Thanks for any assistance, Jody

Check your front ABS sensor in the upright...see if any wires are dangling or if the sensor itself isn't seated properly...there's a 8mm bolt that holds it in but they can be finicky when loving snow and mud...

Thanks for the reply, I just checked both front ones and they appear to be in good condition with no wires hanging or exposed...The ones on the back appear to be 2 gray sensors and they also appear to be in good shape...I realize I may need to put a scanner on it and see what codes appear...Any recommendations on a good scanner that won't break the bank? Thanks again, Jody

Many auto parts stores will scan your vehicle for free and provide the codes.

I realize that code u0114 can be caused by a faulty Four-Wheel Drive Clutch Control Module, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem...No ABS light, just the traction control light is on steady with no 4wd. Thanks

4WD ECU failure is what it sounds like. Correct for that code and no ability to get into 4wd. Keep than in mind, I think first I would check all related fuses, under hood as well as under driver dash, look for simple things first.

Not sure about 2016 but on the earlier gen trucks it was located under passenger side kick panel. Probably same on the 2.5 gen or maybe behind glove box. Not sure how to test if that ECU is bad or not.

Lastly, how old is your battery? Battery going out can cause all sorts of weird issues, warnings, alerts...when the truck systems dont get the required volts.

See if any of this helps.

Battery is 2 years old, checked all the fuses, along with the wiring under the passenger seat but to no avail...I will research on how to check the ECU, thanks for the reply, Jody

I ended up taking my Tundra to Billion Toyota in Sioux Falls and they found it was a faulty computer box located under the glovebox/dash. They replaced it and it's fixed...did take them a few hours though to locate the gremlin.

    Problem Solved!
I want to post my experience to help anyone might have the problem in the future.

Following Dakota7557 advice, I've checked the 4WD module behind the glove box (passenger side) and it connections.
The fault was the green wire (one of the wide ones) that provides permanent 12V to the 4WD module.
The multimeter shows erratic readings on voltage (from 12V to 3.5V when applying little resistance -this should not happened, it must be 12V all the time-). I had to follow the green wire to the fuse box located in the engine bay that goes to the 30Amp 4WD fuse. The resistant reading between both points was in MOhms instead of normal continuity (just some Ohms) meaning a shortcut in the wire at some point. Doing some checking at different sections I have found where the wire has the shortcut and sulfated too (was near the windshield washer deposit). After fixing the cable, the module appears again! Just reset the stored DTC and VSC light went off and 4WD Hi and Lo works again!
    Everything is perfect now.
Thanks for the advice and lead!

(Have to tell that before the advice to do this, I spent a lot of time and headaches to try to find the reason why… I have checked and clean the wheel sensors and connectors, transfer and transmission connectors, front axle connector, transfer actuator motor, cabin fusebox and connectors, clockspring, reset angle and yaw sensors (after clearing these sensors, was not possible to record the new readings, showing ABS and brake light, until fixing the fail wire)… Finding everything perfect).

    Thanks Dakota7557 again
    Best Regards to everyone!
