I have a 2021 tundra Trd pro with 40,000 miles. Was at the dealership today for an oil change and decided to have them do a brake fluid flush.

I just got home and looked at the reservoir and it looks empty to me. I took the cap off and stuck my finger in and I can feel like a filter inside there, but I don’t feel any fluid. Should the fluid be above that filter that’s just inside??

Check the level on the side with a flashlight, max/min line.

I noticed this as I was about to check my truck into Costco to have a flat fixed so I’ll do that when I get it back. I was just curious if you reach your finger into the reservoir where you can touch the bottom of the filter thing if you should feel fluid.

Brake fluid is clear and there's a line on the reservoir where it should be You need to use a flashlight in order to see the level as stated above. Only time you can see brake fluid level easily is if your fluid is dirty.

I don’t have my truck back yet since it’s still at Costco but the dealership called and told me that if you reach your finger into the reservoir and where you can touch the filter that the fluid should be below below that. Basically that it’s normal to reach your finger in there and touch the filter but feel no brake fluid.

Fluid is clear. Shine a light from the back side and you’ll see the line.
