Speed governor question

    2013 tundra here does the ecu use the wheel speed sensors or just the vss on the transmission or a combination of both for the speed governor

    Wheel speeds sensors, one on each wheel. The ABS ecu reads the sensors, generates a message for the speed of the vehicle and shares it will all other ECUs.

    This is what drives the speedometer and odometer.

    The transmission has two VSS one in front one in rear on the main shaft. To the best of my understanding the ECM only uses them to monitor shaft rotation speed and control transmission shifting.
