I bought this same kit earlier this year. Now I need to upgrade the speakers.

 

How's the screen resolution? I'm used to the excellent screen of the Pioneer, but don't want to stay with them on the next unit.

 

I went from a stock 2014 screen to this, so the resolution is better for me. Only thing that stood out was the poor image quality on the backup cam since the screen is now bigger.

 

I’m in the same boat with Pioneer. Considering this and a Kenwood, but the old school in me still thinks I want a disk drive. Unless I can plug in a USB drive and play music and movies without any real workaround.

 

We have a disc drive in the Sequoia and RV and don't use either. I do think it would be nice to have a volume knob but I'm pretty used to not having one by now

I'm leaning towards the Alpine, but I wanna wait for the prices to come down which probably won't happen until it's 10 years old

 

Well, that's a bummer. A did a little more digging in to the 9500ES: all the upgraded sound goodies, but ZERO A/V In OR Out. Can't hook up the rear screens or plug anything in to it. It does have one single USBC connection... but that's it, and it won't do wired CarPlay (even though I'd used wireless CarPlay, just saying it sounds like they are limiting what can be pushed over the USBC input..). I think I'll keep looking, unfortunately.

We did. I love mine. Anyone west of the Mississippi seems to have backup camera issues.
